Fortnite: How to Shoot Down Opponent Structures with X-4 Stormwings

Epic Games has introduced plenty of new content for Chapter 2, Season 5 of Fortnite, giving many players new ideas for how to complete matches. One of these new additions reintroduced planes in Fortnite, giving many fans an aerial advantage over their enemies.

As part of this returning feature in Fortnite, players can also shoot down other aerial vehicles and players from the sky. Accompanying this comes a new challenge in Fortnite that tasks gamers with controlling an X-4 Stormwing and shooting down an enemy structure for XP.

There are multiple locations where players can find the X-4 Stormwings, but getting one may be difficult since other gamers are rushing to complete the challenge as well. Luckily, there are multiple planes at each location, so there is still a good chance for players focused solely on this quest. For those looking for tips on how to complete this challenge, here is all the necessary information.

Locations for possible planes include areas west of Pleasant Park, south of Holly Hedges, south of Steamy Stacks, east of Slurpy Swamp, and at Catty Corner’s peak in the snow. Another thing to look out for is that the plane has a lot of fuel. If not, find one of the many gas stations scattered around the map to refuel the plane. It will be important for the player to stay in the air for as long as possible to complete this challenge.

There is no immediate indicator of what structures belong to the enemy or a team member. Luckily, this Fortnite challenge can be completed in team rumble, squads, or solo. If fans are playing solo, there is a great chance at finding enemy structures since they don’t have to risk shooting a teammate’s structure. Players will have to shoot down the structure completely to gain the reward, and an indicator should pop up letting the gamer know they have completed the challenge.

Epic Games has constantly improved the game to try and make it more enjoyable for everyone, even making Fortnite run better on consoles. However, now that many people are stuck at home playing it, it might be a little more challenging to find a good plane. Gamers might have to fight off some other players at the locations first before taking flight, which could take a couple of tries.

Fortnite is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
