Stranded Deep: How to Get Fibrous Leaves | Game Rant

Fibrous Leaves are a resource in Stranded Deep that can be used to craft a variety of different items. Perhaps the most essential item that can be made from this resource is a Lashing, and indeed fans will need to craft one before they even make it through the game’s tutorial. For those Stranded Deep players that may be having some trouble locating the Fibrous Leaves that they need to create a Lashing, this guide is here to help.

To get right to it, Fibrous Leaves in Stranded Deep are obtained from the Palm Saplings and Yucca Trees that can be found scattered across the environment. Players cannot simply walk up to these plants and pick Fibrous Leaves, though, and they will instead need to call upon the assistance of a tool. During the tutorial, the tool of interest will be the Stone Tool that was previously crafted, but better instruments can be used for harvesting Fibrous Leaves as they become available.

Once a player has crafted an appropriate tool, and equipped it from within their backpack, they can then start searching for Palm Saplings and Yucca Trees in this survival game. That search will not take much time at all, as these two plants appear in relative abundance, and fans should hit the saplings and trees that they encounter with their tools. Indeed, these plants will shed Fibrous Leaves after just a few whacks, and players will be free to pick them up when that has occurred.

To note, Palm Saplings and Yucca Trees will respawn after a couple of in-game days, which means that players will almost always have a reliable source for Fibrous Leaves. This is quite fortunate, as Lashings are used in many of the crafting recipes in Stranded Deep, and it sets the resource apart from things like sticks and rocks. Still, fans should try to be thoughtful when allocating their Fibrous Leaves, as they have important uses beyond crafting Lashings.

For example, one of the best ways to get drinkable water in Stranded Deep is to create and maintain a Water Still. One way to perform this maintenance is to fuel the Still with Fibrous Leaves, and thus it is often wise to hold onto a bit of the resource for the creation of water. That said, players can also use Palm Fronds to keep a Water Still running, giving them an alternative way to survive in Stranded Deep if they find themselves without any Fibrous Leaves.

Stranded Deep is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
