As 2020 finally comes to a close, now is the time for reflection on the year in its entirety. Looking back, the developers of the iconic racing franchise Forza Motorsport appear to have had a great year for the video game industry.
Washington-based developers Turn 10 Studios recently posted a look back at all that Forza Motorsport has achieved and produced this calendar year. The results show the work of a diligent studio, which has continued to bring not only new offerings to its existing series, but a lot of fun in a year when people needed it most.
The nearly two-minute Twitter video highlights all the hard work the Forza Motorsport team has accomplished during a tough year. The video highlights the art of drifting, accessing hard to obtain cars via Horizon Backstage, partnering with the Special Olympics, and the importance of accessibility for all gamers. Also highlighted was the launch of Forza Street, which went live on mobile devices this year, as did the track and environment creation generator Blueprint Builder within Super 7. The video ends with many streamers and creators simply having fun playing different variations of the now-legendary driving franchise.
Turn 10 Studios looks to be proud of what the company has accomplished this year. Having been in business since 2001 and launching the very first Forza Motorsport in 2005, the company has released 11 different games between the mainline series and its spinoff, Forza Horizon over the span of 17 years.
The studio has succeeded in not only creating and maintaining a top-tier video game franchise, but also keeping it current and relevant. With a focus on fun, accessibility, and a brand new Forza Motorsport coming to the Xbox Series X/S, it will be interesting to see Turn 10 Studios continue its race into the future.
Forza Motorsport is in development.
