Dr Disrespect Teases Big Plans for 2021 | Game Rant

Last year can be considered the year of the unexpected when it comes to the rise and fall of streamers. YouTuber Valkyrae exploded in popularity in mid-2020 with Among Us streams, skyrocketing from about 3,000 peak concurrent viewers to just under 67,000 by October. On the other hand, former Twitch superstar Dr Disrespect received a ban in late June that left many shocked, including the streaming mogul himself. Ever since the mysterious move, nobody on seems to know the true motivations behind the ban.

Since then, he has found a massive revival on YouTube, achieving over 500,000 viewers on his comeback stream. Although the lack of reason behind the ban has been a source of anxiety for the Doc, his return to streaming has seen many successes. These include a Madden 21 Virtual Tailgate alongside rapper Snoop Dogg, and a large-scale crossover with Hi-Rez Studios for Rogue Company that included a unique character skin as well as a new map he created.

Recently, on his New Years’ Eve stream, the Doc reflected 2020 with a short recap: “What a f***ing year, huh? Jesus Christ.” After a short pause, he continued, “We got some big things lined for next year, I can’t go into the details, it starts off literally… potentially, a hint, a glimpse, a tease, next week potentially. I don’t know. I mean, I do know but I ain’t gonna tell ya – or I might.”

Dr Disrespect continued feeding teasers to his viewers: “That’s gonna jumpstart things. Lots of hidden projects, slowly, taking a slower approach, and not doing it just to do it, doing it right. These things gotta mature. And Champs, it’s all for the Champions Club baby!”

In the past, the streaming icon has put forth plans to host his own gaming awards show, as well as reaching out to Activision to let him create a new gulag map for Call of Duty: Warzone. Although rumors surrounding his intent to invest in a Call of Duty League team have died down, it’s possible that that the mogul may still have plans to dive into esports at some point this year.

For some viewers, Dr Disrespect’s plans for 2021 may come as a welcome change from the most recent streamer drama. Twitch streamer xQc serves as the progenitor of a wave of aggressive gameplay and stream sniping allegations on Rust. This resulted in fellow streamer Ash receiving death threats and harassment, and the creation of a new Rust server focused on roleplaying. Before that, the controversial Canadian streamer received disapproval from several peers over his antics and accusations, including responses from fellow streamers Myth and Shroud.

Although nothing has been announced, it’s clear Dr Disrespect has no intention of sitting on the information for long. The Two-Time Champ has clear plans for the future, and viewers should learn more of what’s to come in the following week.
