It has only been a couple of days since Capcom’s Monster Hunter Rise development team sent out its New Year greetings to the public. Promising its dedicated fanbase that more information will be made available in January 2021, the devs quickly made good on their word with a very recent announcement of a new Monster Hunter Rise digital event.
Fans have already been abuzz online before the team even mentioned the digital event. With the official Monster Hunter social media accounts subtly changing profile pictures and cover photos to reflect key visuals from Monster Hunter Rise, players were quick to assume that more news about the upcoming title would be revealed to the public sooner than they thought.
Within a couple of hours, Capcom officially announced the Monster Hunter Rise Digital Event. Happening on January 7, 2021, 6:00AM PST or 14:00 GMT, hunters will be able to tune in on Twitch, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter, for the long-awaited news about the action-adventure title. Though not much information was shared through the social media posts, the team briefly mentions that fans should expect big news and reveals during the livestream.
However, avid followers of MH Rise were able to quickly gather more details from the Japanese version of the event announcement. Known community influencers such as Gaijinhunter and Kogath translated the post for the public, stating that the digital event will be launching a brand-new game trailer, and more importantly, reveal the release date of Monster Hunter Rise‘s highly-anticipated demo. Unfortunately, no details about new or returning monsters were shared.
Gaijinhunter also speculated that the demo may be downloadable on the Nintendo Switch only a day after the Capcom livestream. Sharing a link to the official Japan site, he pointed out that the local Monster Hunter Rise marketing team already has a line-up of Japanese YouTube content creators that were given early access to the January demo. He also provided the schedule of when the hands-on demo content will be out in Japan so it may be a strong hint that the demo will be available by then.
Being one of the most anticipated games of 2021, Monster Hunter Rise is looking to be an exciting new addition to Capcom’s already well-loved series. With the new updates the live event will bring, hopefully the series’ fans will be appeased just enough until game’s official launch.
Monster Hunter Rise will be released on March 26, 2021 for the Nintendo Switch.
