Fan-Made Tool Helps My Nintendo Members Track Stock of Physical Rewards

Over the years, Nintendo has offered neat rewards for its loyal customers, like a deck of Mario-themed Hanafuda playing cards, or a Super Famicom-themed controller for the Wii. However, that was back in the days of Club Nintendo, which transitioned into the current My Nintendo rewards program in 2016. This placed a heavier focus on digital rewards in the form of downloadable games or in-game rewards, and since then many feel the physical My Nintendo rewards have been hit or miss.

The transition to the My Nintendo rewards program affected rewards everywhere, making many of the physical rewards things like sticker sheets, mini calendars, or even napkin sets. However, the rewards program still tends to release some neat goodies from time to time, like the recent Animal Crossing: New Horizons-themed shopping bags, but it can be difficult for many My Nintendo members to get their hands on such collectors items. Luckily, one fan created their own solution.

In light of a recent slew of new physical My Nintendo rewards, Reddit user RootBearr expressed frustration with keeping track of the availability of physical items. The user decided to take it upon themselves to create a tool to help remedy the issue, releasing a website made to show which physical My Nintendo Rewards are currently in stock and helping My Nintendo members see a live view of all available rewards in one place.

RootBearr’s website not only displays physical My Nintendo rewards, but also shows which current rewards are not in stock and how much stock is left. The site is set to update every 10 minutes in order to stay as up-to-date as possible, and users can enable browser notifications to know when items are made available.

Initially, the website was only made to track the stock of physical My Nintendo rewards in the US, but it has since been updated to support the European store. RootBearr has also expressed the desire to either find a way to send notifications straight to My Nintendo users’ smart phones, or even turn the website into a full-fledged mobile app.
