Genshin Impact Reveals ‘Lost Riches’ Event Details | Game Rant

Genshin Impact players are likely used to hearing it by now, but it has been quite the eventful season in-game. Since miHoYo released its latest title, its players have been able to take advantage of several substantial content updates, including multiple varying in-game and web-based events.

Although Travelers have had a semblance of upcoming events thanks to a combination of Genshin Impact leakers and official announcements, the details have remained rather scarce. This is no surprise, considering the large amount of content that has been introduced to the game since launch.

While players in late 2020 found out that there would be three different events occurring as part of Version 1.2, not much was known aside from preliminary details. One of the three events, the “Lost Riches” event, has now been officially unveiled and will be commencing on January 8, 2021.  This event stood out during previous teasers because of the fact it would introduce a sort of pet-like feature to the game, which players now know comprises three new “mini seelie” that will follow players when befriended.

The new event will run for ten days, from January 8 until January 18, 2021, with its Event Shop remaining open until January 22 at 3:59 (server time). Players will be tasked with helping an odd Treasure-Seeking Seelie locate buried mounds of Iron Coins, which can be exchanged for rewards through the Event Shop. Players will apparently be able to certain treasure areas to earn “special treasure clues,” which will in turn lead to Primogems and other valuable rewards.

Of course, most players are eyeing the event’s “real” prize, which is the new friendly Mini Seelie companion. Although players will not be able to take home the Treasure-Seeking Seelie featured in Lost Riches, they will be able to redeem a similar one of their own using Iron Coins. Players should note that although these coins resemble Treasure Hoarder Insignias, they’re an entirely different event-exclusive item. Moreover, Travelers will only be able to claim a single mini seelie “gadget,” though there will be three total to choose from:

  1. Mini Seelie: Dayflower
  2. Mini Seelie: Rosé
  3. Mini Seelie: Curcuma

At the moment, it’s assumed that these gadgets will exist solely as a cosmetic feature. That is to say, they won’t really do anything special for the player, aside from giving them a stylish new look. Dayflower, Rosé, and Curcuma, also all seem to be the same except for their colors. Between the commemorative Mini Seelie, and various rewards like Primogems, players will have a fair spread of content to enjoy during Lost Riches’ timeframe. Not to mention, this event should feel especially light considering the elaborate nature of Albedo’s recent four-part Dragonspine event.

Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
