While a majority of Fortnite‘s Season 5 Week 6 challenges are fairly straightforward, that is not the case with absolutely all of them. Perhaps the most opaque of the new weekly challenges is the one that instructs players to signal the Coral Buddies, and indeed some fans may be confused about exactly how to complete this task. Fortunately, it is not extremely difficult to signal the Coral Buddies in Fortnite, and this guide has full details on the process.
To get right to it, players that are working on this Season 5 Week 6 challenge should begin by traveling to Coral Castle, a named location that is situated at the northwest corner of Fortnite‘s map. Upon arrival at Coral Castle, fans will need to track down three large clam shells, and these can be found around the area’s central structure. For full clarity, the map below highlights the precise position of these clam shells.
With the locations of the clam shells established, it should be sufficient to say that Fortnite players simply need to approach each one of them and hold the input that appears onscreen to “Signal.” After doing this three times, fans will receive indication that they have completed the signal the Coral Buddies challenge, and they will earn 20,000 XP for their efforts. While it is true that this reward alone is not enough to catapult players to the top tiers of this season’s Battle Pass, it is sure to be appreciated none the less.
To note, there is another new weekly challenge that asks fans to blow up Fishing Holes at Sharky Shell, Sweaty Sands, or Flopper Pond, and all three of these locations are in fairly close proximity to Fortnite‘s Coral Castle. Players that are interested in earning efficient XP are thus advised to tackle this task right after they have signaled the Coral Buddies, and they will receive another 20,000 when the job is done.
From there, fans may want to start hunting for Boats, Motorboats, and Fishing Rod Barrels in Fortnite, as there are challenges associated with destroying all three of these items. They could also opt to head toward Lazy Lake Island, Lake Canoe, or Steamy Stacks, as there are even more Fishing Holes to destroy in those areas. Regardless of what a player chooses to do, one thing is perfectly clear: this week introduces a variety of new ways to make some progress on Fortnite‘s Season 5 Battle Pass.
Fortnite is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
