Fortnite: How to Blow Up Fishing Holes at Lazy Lake Island, Lake Canoe, and Steamy Stacks

Completing all of Fortnite‘s weekly challenges is a great way for players to earn some easy XP, and indeed there is a new batch of tasks available now. One of the new challenges that may be causing some confusion centers around blowing up Fishing Holes at Lazy Lake Island, Lake Canoe, and near Steamy Stacks, and it can be approached in several ways. It is the intent of this guide to provide details on these various approaches, and Fortnite players that read on should have little trouble finishing the challenge.

To start, it is important to clarify exactly where fans can find the locations referenced in this new challenge, and the map below should do exactly that. Of the three areas, Lake Canoe is perhaps the most difficult to pinpoint, as it is not directly connected to any of the named locations on Fortnite‘s map. However, players that turn their attention to the following visual can easily overcome that obstacle.

With these three locations established, it may now be worthwhile to say a few words about Fishing Holes. To put things simply, players should keep their eyes peeled for pulsating ripples of water as they traverse the areas marked above, as that is precisely how Fishing Holes manifest in Fortnite. Additionally, fish will occasionally spring forth from these ripples, making it even easier to identify the relevant spots in these bodies of water.

Once a Fortnite player has located a Fishing Hole, all that is left is to blow it up, and that can be done by throwing grenades into the water. Alternatively, fans can fire missiles from a Motorboat into the Fishing Hole, as that will also progress the challenge. While this option does require players to track down a vehicle, it is likely the easier of the two approaches, and it is certainly worth considering if grenades are not getting the job done.

To note, some players are currently reporting that they are not always receiving credit upon blowing up a Fishing Hole. This appears to be occurring most frequently in the waters near Steamy Stacks, and fans may want to wait for Epic Games to address the issue before putting too much effort toward the challenge. Certainly, there are many others new tasks to undertake at the time of writing, including one that instructs players to signal the Coral Buddies, which can help keep fans occupied as they await a fix.

Fortnite is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
