Fortnite: How to Complete All Season 5 Week 6 Challenges

Another week, another series of challenges in Fortnite. Recent changes in the game include NPCs who give bounties and the advent of IO Guards, but this week’s challenges have more to do with fish and headshots than NPCs.

This guide is here to help guide players through Fortnite‘s latest series of challenges, almost all of which have to do with water. While these are relatively easy to accomplish, there’s also the Legendary Quest, which requires players to get increasing numbers of headshots at each stage. This can be a bit tricky, but thanks to some recent additions to the game, it may not be as hard as it could be.

The minimum level of the legendary quest requires 20 headshots, with 20 more at each level, up to 100 maximum. It’s recommended that players head into team rumble, since this has the greatest player density and the most opportunities for headshots. While sniper rifles are the obvious choice, keep in mind that assault rifles and SMGs fire more bullets, which all have the opportunity to headshot. Shotguns too can rack up many headshots quickly. It’s also worth firing point blank at initially non-violent NPCs, or taking pot shots at IO Guards.

The first Epic challenge is blowing up fishing holes at Sharky Shell. There are two other viable locations, but Sharky Shell has something important: motorboats. These come equipped with grenade launchers, and there are plenty of fishing holes around the Shell, so go nuts.

Once again there are three locations to choose from, but Lazy Lake Island is probably the best. It’s a big area with motorboats (with grenade launchers) and lots of fishing holes. Head to Lazy Lake Island and blow up three fishing holes to complete the challenge.

This one’s a bit esoteric. In order to signal the Coral Buddies, head to Coral Castle. There are three huge clams hanging out around the north and south areas of Coral Castle. Approach each and perform the Signal command to complete the challenge.

These next few can all be done together, if players are savvy. The first is to catch seven fish, which can be done at either of the abovementioned locations (provided there are some fishing holes left).

If a player has caught seven fish, odds are there is at least one fishing rod barrel nearby. Hunt these down at locations with fishing holes (six prime examples are mentioned in the epic quest descriptions for blowing up fishing holes) and destroy them. Destroying seven in total will do it.

Please note that this does not include motorboats. Head to the bait shop at Craggy Cliffs to find seven boats, exactly the number players must destroy. There are others nearby, just in case. All of these are canoes and are nowhere near water, so have fun.

These can be found all over the map, but one secluded doc at the Western edge of the map makes for a great spot. It has all three motorboats that must be destroyed, but it’s recommended to bring a gun to do so faster.

Many have noted that these quests are much easier than previous weeks. Perhaps, in addition to handing out free Samsung tablets to influencers to bring Fortnite to more people, Epic is trying to make the game more beginner-friendly to draw in new players. Or maybe the theme of water, threes, and sevens just felt right this week.

Fortnite is free-to-play for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
