Genshin Impact: How To Get Archaic Petra Set | Game Rant

Genshin Impact is known for its stylish characters and expansive map, and with all the new playable characters being introduced lately, many players are finding themselves with an equipment shortage. Whether preparing characters with weapons, Artifact Sets, or even just EXP materials, leveling up a new character takes effort.

Although the next character set to join the Genshin Impact playable roster is Ganyu, the five-star Cryo archer, players recently had the opportunity to meet three distinct Geo characters: Ningguang, Zhongli, and Albedo (in order of appearance). Especially now that these three characters have joined the fray, players may be wanting to find some powerful Geo-boosting items, like Artifact Sets.

Unfortunately, the game currently only offers a single Geo-focused Artifact Set, and it’s known as the Archaic Petra Set. Like similar pure Element-boosting Artifacts, Archaic Petra boosts its respective Elemental DMG (Geo) by 15 percent when equipped as a two-piece. However, when equipped as a four-piece Set, it gives all party members a 35 percent DMG Bonus whenever they consume an Elemental Shard generated by Crystallization. The DMG Bonus will correspond to the Shard’s particular Element.

Like other powerful Artifact Sets in Genshin Impact, Archaic Petra can be earned as a reward from a Domain. Several powerful Artifact Sets, like Wanderer’s Troupe, can be obtained from Elite Bosses, but specialized ones like Archaic Petra and Crimson Witch of the Flame, for example, are generally reserved for special Domains. Archaic Petra will only drop as a reward from the Domain of Guyun in Liyue, found on the Guyun Stone Forest’s largest island. This small archipelago is also where players can find and challenge the powerful Geo Hypostasis Elite Boss.

The Archaic Petra is a four-star Artifact Set at its lowest level, so it will only drop as a reward beginning at Level III of the Domain of Guyun. This means that players need to reach at least at Adventure Rank (AR) 30 to receive Archaic Petra as a reward. That said, if players are hoping to track down five-star variants of the Artifact Set, they’ll need to wait until they reach AR 40, as five-star Archaic Petra Set pieces will only drop in the last two levels of Domain of Guyun, Levels V and VI.

When equipped in a set of two, Archaic Petra gives characters like the controversial Zhongli a raw Geo DMG boost, but its true power lies in the four-piece bonus. Most Geo characters somehow rely on their ability to trigger Crystallize reactions and produce Elemental Shards. These shards allow teammates to generate Elemental Shields of different sorts, and the Archaic Petra Set effectively gives players an additional 35 percent damage boost in addition to the shields.

Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, PS4, PS5, and is currently in development for Switch.
