Leaker Says Grand Theft Auto 6 Will Have A Female Main Character

The rumors surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6 are not slowing down, and the latest one adds more stake to what already seems to be an ambitious game. This new leak comes from a popular YouTuber LongSensation who has correctly revealed information about Call of Duty titles in the past.

Since the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018, there have been a plethora of leaks and rumors surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6. While the most popular one regarding the game’s map was debunked, later on, there are still plenty of them floating across the internet which might have more truth to them. The most recent one, as claimed by YouTuber LongSensation, is in regards to the game’s protagonist.

As it seems, Grand Theft Auto 6, for the first time in the series’ history, may feature a female protagonist. LongSensation, who goes by the Twitter name Tom Henderson, casually posted the information on his timeline. As expected, the tweet garnished a lot of heat, with many fans asking for more tidbits regarding this surprising piece of information.

This bold statement also caused a lot of speculation and confusion in the community. Some people asked whether this alleged female protagonist of Grand Theft Auto 6 will be fully-fledged like the likes of Niko Bellic or even Arthur Morgan, or will follow a more Ubisoft route where players have the option to choose the gender of their protagonist. Others, meanwhile, shared a belief of having multiple protagonists similar to Grand Theft Auto 5. Unfortunately, Henderson had nothing else to share at the moment.

If this new piece of information has any truth to it, Grand Theft Auto 6 may not be the only Rockstar game to feature a female protagonist in the future. Considering how the story ties up in Red Dead Redemption 2, the iconic Sadie Adler may very well take the center stage in Red Dead Redemption 3 whenever it happens. Featuring female protagonists in both of Rockstar’s flagship franchises may turn out to be a turning point in the history of a studio that, at a time, paid its women devs less than men.

However, none of this is confirmed yet and fans should take this with a grain of salt. For the time being, Rockstar Games is focused on releasing Grand Theft Auto 5 for PS5 in 2021, as well as releasing more DLC’s for Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online, the latter of which received a standalone release recently.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is rumored to be in development.
