Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies is one of the most fan-loved game mode options within the title. With the release of every new Call of Duty comes a hidden hope that Zombies will see another chapter. Although Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War made some massive changes to the Zombies formula, the developers are offering a new event that is a first for the franchise.
There is a ton of secrets hidden within the Dark Aether storyline. After Call of Duty developer Treyarch wrapped up the prime Aether story, this resurgence of the undead has a new and more devastating source. Now, for the first time in Call of Duty history, Treyarch is allowing a free access week for anyone interested in uncovering the truth to the Dark Aether experience.
Shortly after the addition of a brand new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies game mode, Cranked, comes a chance for players to experience the undead for free. The free week will include access to the entire Zombies experience, granting fans a chance to take on Die Maschine and explore the WWII-era laboratory. Do note that anyone on PlayStation will gain access to the PlayStation-exclusive game mode Onslaught, which pits two players in an intense Zombies shooting experience. Bring a powerful loadout into the fray, and try to survive increasingly aggressive waves of undead across rotating safe zones. Free access is expected to begin on January 14 and last until January 21.
For many Zombie enthusiasts, the Call of Duty Zombie mode holds as a primary reason to purchase the game. Treyarch has put out a continuously evolving game experience that seems to only build upon the initial Zombies foundations set several games ago. As Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans explore the Dark Aether, there are years of history set aside to reinforce the new start to an epic narrative.
It is also good to note that players who have progressed weapons in either Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War or Call of Duty: Warzone will see their progress has carried over. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War connected all the progression tracks during the initial integration allowing weapon levels, player levels, and blueprints to appear in both games and Zombies. Incoming fans should see their favorite blueprints readily available for their dive into an undead shooter experience.
Player progression during the event will also add to Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1’s progress. Level the battle pass against a never-ending horde of AI enemies, and watch the tiers rise with XP boosts and other advantages for the season.
