Today marks the official start of the Sinnoh Celebration, which means that for the second time this month Pokemon GO trainers will be racing around attempting to fill up their Pokedex while revisiting one of the generations that has been released in the mobile AR game. Early January had the spotlight on the Unova region, but now the focus has shifted back to Sinnoh for a week of features and bonuses.
The event is part of a series of weeklong celebrations that are counting down to Pokemon GO Tour: Kanto. Players will have today through Sunday, January 17 to take full advantage of the special bonuses, spawns, and hatches to help fill in their Pokemon GO Pokedex and catch some of the most powerful Pokemon from the Sinnoh region.
Along with the increased spawns and special Sinnoh Battle Raid bosses, players can also earn some quick and easy Sinnoh encounter rewards thanks to some exclusive Field Tasks (just like the Unova Celebration offered). There are three event tasks that have been found so far and players can pick up any of them by visiting Pokestops around their community. The tasks are all fairly straightforward and simple and each offer an encounter with a popular Sinnoh region Pokemon.
Power up Pokémon 4 times -Turtwig, Chimchar, or Piplup
Win 2 raids – Shieldon or Cranidos
Defeat 2 Team GO Rocket Grunts – Buizel
The most difficult task of the set is “Win 2 raids” and that’s only really challenging because it involves spending a limited resource (Raid Passes). Some players may opt to trash that Tasks when they receive it if Shieldon and Cranidos aren’t high on their priority list for this week. That said, those are likely going to be two pretty popular rewards, so in general it’ll be worth hanging on to the task even if it takes two days to complete (by waiting for the daily free Raid Pass). It’s possible that other tasks will pop up as the event continues, but for now those seem to be the only changes to the January 2021 Field Task list that players have been able to spot.
As trainers continue working through these amazing events and enjoying the new era of the GO Beyond update, they may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters and completing their Pokedex is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
