On the launch day of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 Reloaded comes an interesting leak from a popular source. The leak was supposedly sparked due to a brand new map being added in the highly-anticipated mid-season patch. While Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans have several requested remakes in mind, the leaker only has one fact known for certain.
Each Call of Duty title brings about the possibility of map remakes. With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War set in the Black Ops timeline, fan-favorite maps from the past are at the forefront of player requests. Still, that does not mean that the developers will be adding them to the game, but this leaker believes that some are planned after Express is added.
Veteran Call of Duty leaker and Activision insider @TheMW2Ghost tweeted out that Treyarch is planning eight more remakes for future seasons. The leaker guesses that there will be one or two remade maps appearing in each season from here on out. Considering that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare had six seasons, many are expecting Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War to follow a similar pattern. That leaves the math lining up with expected content updates, giving fans some level of credibility to the leaker’s claim.
Fans already have several Call of Duty: Black Ops maps in mind. There are notable fan-favorite locations like Fringe, Hijacked, Grid, and many more. There is also a chance that Firing Range gets remade despite a remake already existing in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. While no map can be ruled out, all eyes are on Treyarch as to what may be coming next.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans were uncomfortable during the launch due to the restrictive map selection. As new maps are being added to the title, many players are expressing gratitude and better experiences within the title.
Still, Activision and Treyarch must tread carefully as remakes of classic Black Ops maps can go both ways. Either the community will accept the map in open arms, or they will turn against it, claiming the original was a better design for the title.
