Although Pokemon GO players may currently be busy wrapping up the Sinnoh Celebration week and getting ready to embark on a week of Hoenn increased spawns and Battle Raid bosses, there will be a shift in focus for at least a few hours this weekend. The January 2021 Community Day event has arrived, which means that the spotlight is going to be stolen by Machop and its evolutions for a few hours this weekend.
The Community Day event offers a huge increase in Machop spawns and an increased opportunity to obtain a shiny version of the powerful little Fighting-type. The shiny factor, combined with the power that Machop’s evolutions hold in the Pokemon GO metagame, mean that the January event is going to be a very popular one. Pokemon GO players who want to get the most value out of the day may want to consider picking up the Ticketed Special Research – Straight to the Top, Machop.
It has become tradition for Pokemon GO Community Day to offer a one dollar ticketed Special Research storyline to help drive players through the event and increase the rate at which they earn Candy and other rewards. The Special Research is obviously completely optional, but trainers who do opt to participate will be in for a pretty standard array of Community Day tasks. Players who want a sneak peek at what’s to come in the research can check out every task and reward right here and decide whether it is worth the price of admission and their time or not.

Keep in mind that the Special Research should be completed during the Community Day event. Considering the increased spawns of Machop this afternoon, it should be very easy to power through the steps of this challenge with plenty of time to spare. None of the tasks require any particularly difficult strategy, so the only real commitment here is the purchase of the ticket and the time it will take to complete the list of tasks.
