With the talk of bot lobbies in the Call of Duty: Warzone community, some fans have taken levity in all the rumors. Outside the idea of cheats, the intention of winning, and in the general sense of enjoying the game, bot lobbies have become a joke among the Reddit community due to its use as a term for “bad players” in online games. As players spawn into Call of Duty: Warzone games, anyone could be in a bot lobby at any time.
With the Call of Duty: Warzone tracking apps down, there is no way to confirm whether or not a player is in a bot lobby. Still, SBMM means that players will be paired with similarly skilled enemies resulting in newish lobbies for newer players. Call of Duty: Warzone fans who perform exceptionally badly in a round can have their SBMM rank dropped and find themselves among new players and bots.
Call of Duty: Warzone fan yeaitsahonda posted a clip onto Reddit of their time in a supposed bot lobby. The clip begins with them driving around in a car somewhere on the northern side of Verdansk. As they approach the road, they spot a Warzone player on an ATV headed the opposite way. Quickly turning, they overtake the player and successfully kill them by ramming the car into their ATV. As the player jumps out to loot their kill, the ATV explodes, causing the car to follow suit and down the player. As they attempt to crawl away, the train slowly runs them over, resulting in a rather sudden and funny cause of death.
In the post’s title, the player calls themself the “Leader of The Bots” due to their rather sudden death in a relatively easy lobby. Call of Duty: Warzone did offer him a chance in the Gulag, but in the comments, the player confirmed that they were promptly executed within the second chance arena.
While the player admits that their death was entirely their fault, they do stand by their ranking as they see the low-level experience as more enjoyable then intense competitive environments. Many Call of Duty: Warzone fans agree with them as the discussion of SBMM manipulation continues to circulate in the player environment.
Despite this, the clip is a funny example of how the game can still be fun despite lobby composition. While Call of Duty: Warzone is by nature a competitive game, fans continue to find ways to make it more fun and enjoyable in every lobby environment.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
