Xbox Has More Game Announcements Planned for 2021, According to DICE Developer

Microsoft recently decided to give fans a taste of some of the games coming to the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S. It figured it would start off the new year with some good news considering 2020 was a disaster for so many. The line up the company announced consisted of nearly 30 Xbox exclusive games. To be more specific, the list is a mix of both indie and AAA titles, containing 29 games in total, with 27 of them being Xbox exclusives.

Apparently, though, this list only scratches the surface of what Microsoft has planned for the Xbox Series X this year. Over on the gaming forum ResetEra, a verified developer from DICE responded to an Xbox fan who wondered what Microsoft would have done for 2021 if Halo Infinite met its original release date. According to the developer, Microsoft has quite a few things that it hasn’t announced yet, which hints that the company has more headliners like Halo waiting in the wings.

This claim lines up with what the original blog post revealing the list of upcoming Xbox games stated. In its earliest paragraphs, the blog, which comes from the Xbox Wire website, claims Microsoft has so much more Xbox content to show from its talented partners and creative teams. Unfortunately, precisely when Microsoft will make these reveals remains a mystery. It’s also unclear if it’ll offer another nice, convenient list again or reveal every game one by one.

Either way, this appears to be good news for Xbox fans. Soon, Microsoft should no longer be behind the curve when it comes to anticipated, exclusive video games — at least not in terms of quantity. At the moment, the talk of the year has revolved around all the exclusive video games PlayStation 5 has planned for release in 2021, a list that includes titles such as Ratchet and Clank: Drift Apart and Horizon: Forbidden West. With Bethesda among Microsoft’s roster of game developers, Microsoft should have something exciting under its sleeve.

Overall, it looks like 2021 will be a good year for gamers. Between Microsoft and Sony, there are many popular games to look forward to, and that’s not even mentioning what titles and plans Nintendo has in store. Here’s hoping that the next-generation console stock shortages will have stabilized before the major titles start releasing. As it stands right now, successfully obtaining a PS5 or an Xbox Series X console while they’re in stock is almost impossible to pull off.

Xbox Series X and S are available now.
