Fighters in Divinity: Original Sin 2 charge into the fray of battle. They possess high armor and a strong attack that leave enemies wishing for mercy. Players who want to wield the power of the Warfare and Geomancy skill trees will love the fighter class. The Warfare tree focuses on frontal assaults.
It takes a player into the battle with strong health and attack power. Skill in this tree allows players to hit enemies hard. The Geomancer tree focuses on fortification and attacking from a distance. The combination of the trees is one that makes fighters a force to be reckoned with.
10 Battering Ram
Battering Ram is one of the most essential skills a fighter should possess. This skill is used to quickly close the gap between a player and the enemy. When caught at a distance, Battering Ram allows a player to charge the enemy, hitting them with a great force and possibly even knocking them down. If knockdown gets applied, the enemy will lose their next turn. The best part about this skill is that it allows the player to hit multiple enemies as long as they are close enough together.
9 Fortify
Fighters need high physical armor to survive in battle. That is where the Fortify skill comes in. Fortify gives the user more physical armor at the cost of only one action point. This can help the player survive outside of battle as well. Damage from some traps can be prevented using Fortify and status effects can also be removed by the skill. This skill removes the status effects poisoned, bleeding, burning, acid, and decaying. This skill lasts for three turns. Each turn the skill is active the player receives physical armor.
8 Blitz Attack
A great way to deal good damage while also gaining mobility is through the use of Blitz Attack. Blitz Attack has a decent range and can be used to move the player from one target to another. This skill makes the player jump between two different targets. Each target takes seventy percent weapon damage. The downside is that the targets are chosen at random. This skill can still be used if the player is crippled making it useful if the player can’t move by other means.
7 Phoenix Dive
Phoenix Dive is another essential skill for fighters to maneuver across the battlefield. Similar to skills like Cloak and Dagger, Phoenix Dive launches the player across a good distance to whatever location is chosen. Players should be careful about where they land because this skill causes fire to appear.
This fire can ignite oil and poison that will damage the player if landed in. This fire will also damage enemies who are close enough to the landing zone.
6 Impalement
Impalement is useful to help take care of groups of enemies. Sometimes the fighter will be in a situation where multiple enemies wait up ahead and the fighter needs to prevent the enemies from getting closer. Impalement hits in a large radius and is guaranteed to apply the slow status effect to each enemy inside. If enemies have low enough physical armor, Impalement will cause them to become crippled. This will prevent them from being able to move before the fighter has a chance to get in and deal some serious damage.
5 Oily Carapace
Oily Carapace is one of the best armor skills a fighter can get and should always consider equipping. Many Geomancer skills leave oil on the ground. Often, a fighter will be fighting in oil. With the Oily Carapace skill, a fighter can take the oil and turn it into armor. Of course, the amount of armor that the fighter gains is based on the amount of oil that surrounds them. Fighters should also consider the more powerful version of this skill, Mass Oily Carapace since it works on all allies in the area as well.
4 Enrage
One of the perks about being a fighter is getting the bonus critical hit damage. Strength-based weapons have a greater critical hit damage bonus, so fighters may as well take advantage of it. Enrage powers up the fighter and makes it so their next hit will be a critical hit. This effect lasts for two turns, so fighters can take advantage of their great critical damage and severely hurt the enemies. This effect also works on other physical attack skills like Whirlwind and Onslaught. Using skills like these will allows for multiple critical hits in one turn.
3 Earthquake
Earthquake is a great skill for its ability to damage enemies and apply knockdown. This skill has a wide area of effect that stems from the caster. It hits each enemy within the area of effect for one hundred percent Earth damage.
The knockdown effect of Earthquake can affect every enemy in the area and it lasts for one turn. Each enemy that gets knocked down will miss their next turn. This skill also leaves eight random oil puddles on the ground that the fighter can take advantage of with other skills like Oily Carapace.
2 Whirlwind
One of the best tools a fighter can possess is the Whirlwind skill. Many battles will feature multiple enemies that can beat down the players with overwhelming force. In these situations, Whirlwind comes in handy. This skill causes the fighter to spin in a circle and hit every enemy that surrounds them. This skill is one of the most often used and is great to combine with other skills like Enrage. This skill is also one of the few that can hit multiple enemies for one hundred percent of damage each.
1 Onslaught
Another skill that is amazing when combined with Enrage is Onslaught. Onslaught is one of the few source abilities that Warfare skill tree users get access to but is also the most powerful. This skill causes the fighter to hit the enemy five times with each attack dealing only fifty percent weapon damage. This skill is recommended to be used on a boss-type enemy because of its requirements. It requires four action points and all three source points to use, but it can bring an enemy close to death very fast.
