Best Switch Deals on Nintendo eShop’s New Year Sale | Game Rant

In celebration of the New Year, Nintendo is currently holding a sale that offers huge discounts on several of the Nintendo Switch’s biggest games. The eShop’s New Year’s Sale is live right now and will run through January 21, giving players plenty of time to pick up a game or two. Now, for those interested to know what the sale has to offer, here are the best deals on Nintendo’s New Year Sale.

Headlining the eShop’s sale is Immortal Fenyx Rising, an action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft and released last December. At the moment, it appears that Immortal Fenyx Rising is the most recently released game on the sale, and players can pick it up for $39.99 or $20 off its original price of $59.99. Shortly after its release, Immortal Fenyx Rising received mostly positive reviews from players and critics due to its vast open-world environment inspired by Greek mythology.

A few days ago, Ubisoft released Immortal Fenyx Rising’s Update 1.1.0 across all platforms, bringing some much-needed fixes and quality of life updates. Additionally, the update fixes localization and stability. Ubisoft reiterated that the bugs players encountered in some activities and issues with the game’s photo mode were also addressed in the patch. However, the most exciting part of the update is the inclusion of support for Immortal Fenyx Rising’s first DLC expansion called A New God.

Another 2020 game currently available on Nintendo’s New Year Sale is Ori and the Will of the Wisps, which is currently available for $25.49 from its current price of $29.99. Although the game’s port to the Switch is considered a success, developer Moon Studios revealed that it took intense effort to bring Ori and the Will of the Wisps to Nintendo’s hybrid console. According to the developer, the standard version of the game runs at 60 FPS, and this was also the studio’s goal for the Switch version. However, after the game’s initial port to the Switch, it only ran at just 24 FPS, even with compromised assets. Luckily for fans, Moon Studios was able to hit 60 FPS on the Switch after three and a half months of optimization.

Apart from third-party games, Nintendo is also offering some of its most popular exclusive titles on the sale. It is worth noting that first-party Nintendo games barely go on sale, which is why players should take advantage of the promo now while it is still available. Some Nintendo games that are available at a discount include:
