Watch Tom Holland Behind The Scenes For Disneyland’s Spider-Man Ride

Spider-Man star Tom Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker for an upcoming attraction at Disneyland Resort’s Avengers Campus. Now, Holland takes fans behind-the-scenes as he records footage for the Spider-Man ride and provides new details on his role in the attraction.

Holland first landed the coveted role of Spider-Man after Disney and Sony reached a landmark agreement to co-produce new films centered on the character, which would allow the wall-crawler to be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After being introduced to the MCU in Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Civil War, Holland reprised the role of Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Now, Holland is also set to portray the wall-crawler’s alter-ego in Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure, an interactive screen ride slated to open at the Disneyland Resort on a yet-to-be-announced date.

Borrowing from decades’ worth of Marvel history and partly inspired by the MCU, Avengers Campus transports visitors to a world in which the Avengers are setting up new headquarters and training facilities around the globe in hopes of inspiring potential recruits. As part of this initiative, Tony Stark has founded the Worldwide Engineering Brigade, a.k.a WEB, to develop advancements in super-powered technology. Visitors who embark on the Spider-Man Adventure ride will be tasked with helping Peter Parker trap an army of Spider-Bots that have escaped from a WEB Workshop. “For me, personally, it’s the most I’ve ever felt like Spider-Man,” said Holland in a behind-the-scenes preview of the attraction from Disney Parks. “So, everyone is going to get to share that experience, which is so awesome. So, I’m just really excited for it to open and I wanna go ride it again with all the fans.”

Tom Holland is currently shooting Marvel Studios and Sony’s third Spider-Man film, which set photos suggest will be set during the holiday season. In addition to returning MCU favorites such as Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, the untitled Spider-Man sequel will feature an ensemble cast of actors from other franchises, including Alfred Molina as Doc Ock. The inclusion of characters from previous Spider-Man films is expected to be explained by the involvement of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, who will reportedly serve as Peter Parker’s mentor.

How the multiverse and alternate worlds factor into Marvel Studios and Sony’s Spider-Man 3 may become clear after the conclusion of WandaVision. While the Disney Plus series has yet to provide a clear explanation for how the title characters of Wanda Maximoff and Vision find themselves in an alternate sitcom-type world, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has already confirmed the events of the show will be tied directly to Spider-Man 3 and the Doctor Strange sequel.

The next Spider-Man film may also mark the return of Charlie Cox, who has reportedly been spotted on set as Matt Murdock/Daredevil. Cox previously portrayed the titular character on Netflix’s Daredevil until the streamer canceled the series after three seasons.

Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man 3 is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 17, 2021.
