Resident Evil Bundle Includes Biohazard and Village | Game Rant

It’s been a huge day for Resident Evil fans, with Resident Evil 8 getting an in-depth showcase revealing a heap of new information about the forthcoming game. However, there was a smaller piece of information included in the showcase that fans may have missed, and it’s great news for those that skipped the last big entry in the franchise, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.

As announced by Capcom during today’s showcase, the Resident Evil Village & Resident Evil 7 Biohazard Bundle will include both Resident Evil 7 and 8. Both games feature Ethan Winters as the protagonist, with the stories heavily relating to each other. The bundle, which is live now for pre-order, features the Gold Edition of Biohazard and the Deluxe Edition of Village for $79.99.

Just like the other editions of the game, fans that order the bundle will receive the new Resident Evil multiplayer experience RE:Versea competitive title featuring iconic characters from the franchise. Additionally, fans will receive the other pre-order bonuses included with the games, like the Trauma Pack and a Mr. Raccoon Weapon Charm, along with a few other digital goodies.

Resident Evil 7, while adopting the first-person perspective, was considered a much-needed return to form for the franchise by many fans, taking it back to its survival horror roots after the franchise dipped its toes into action-heavy entries for a period of time. The game was hailed by critics for its atmosphere and story, and has maintained positive user scores on review aggregate site Metacritic.

The narratives of the Resident Evil games can be a bit convoluted, so those that skipped Resident Evil 7 may want to consider picking up this bundle. Those that do opt to pick it up will be granted immediate access to Resident Evil 7, which should hold them over until Resident Evil Village releases later this year. The bundle is playable on both current and next-gen consoles, though purchasing it entitles buyers to both versions of the game through free upgrades.

Resident Evil Village launches in May, so fans don’t have too long to wait before they get to see the next chapter in the long-running horror franchise. The game is incorporating bold new elements over the last entry, at least as far as Resident Evil Village gameplay has shown thus far, so there will likely be plenty of surprises in store for fans of the game. In the meantime, players will just have to journey through the older entries once again.

Resident Evil Village launches May 7, 2021, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
