But it’s only available in Japan at the moment.
Capcom is selling a real-life version of the coat Chris Redfield sports in the upcoming Resident Evil Village.
As spotted by Kotaku, the wool coat is only available in Japan at the moment and will set consumers back ¥159,731 ($1,539).
Blurb for the text – as translated by Google – says that this clothing has been recreated under the supervision of Village’s development team and is based on the real item used to 3D scan it into the game. In addition to medium, large and extra-large sizes, there’s also a version that reproduces the original item of clothing scanned for Village.
For those who don’t want to work out over $1,500 for this Village-themed coat, Capcom has also released a collector’s edition for the upcoming horror title.
This isn’t the first time that Capcom has sold expensive clothing from its Resident Evil games. Back in 2016, the firm released a version of Leon S Kennedy’s – admittedly awesome – bomber jacket from Resident Evil 4 for around $1,200, while the character’s leather jacket from Resident Evil 6 commanded a $1,000 price tag.
Resident Evil Village is the eighth numbered entry in Capcom’s horror franchise and was revealed back in June 2020 at Sony’s PlayStation 5 event. During a livestream last week, the publisher revealed that the game was set for a May 7 release date for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, as well as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
If you want to get hands-on with the latest entry in the Resident Evil series, the Maiden demo is out now for PlayStation 5 users. For those not lucky enough to own Sony’s latest fancy hardware, there’s another demo set to launch in spring.
