Psyonix and Epic Games’ massively popular cars-meets-soccer game Rocket League has seen incredible success lately in its new free-to-play format, with thousands of players online at a time. And with constant updates, rotating game modes, a Rocket Pass for players to grind out, and more, the content just seems to keep flowing in for Rocket League.
Since its release, players have gotten creative with the ways in which they decorate their rocket-powered vehicles, and for quite some time now, the game has even allowed players to don Decals representing real-life esports teams. However, one popular vehicle body-type has always been left out of the fun when it came to esports Decals for whatever reason, but in a new update, Rocket League has decided to change that and more.
Following a recent update adding NFL-themed Decals, Rocket League‘s upcoming February 1 update will finally add Fennec Decals for the first time ever in the in-game Esports Shop. Over on Twitter, the official Rocket League account tweeted the announcement, along with a video showing off new Esports Decals, some of the Fennec Decals, and the game’s revamped Esports Shop.
In addition to Fennec Decals finally becoming available for players, the revamped Esports Shop will hold Fennec Decals for 300 Esports Tokens each, and will no longer rotate items, allowing players to pick and choose which Decals they want and when they want to purchase them at ease. Psyonix has also clearly been listening to fan feedback, as the new update includes some quality of life improvements surrounding the Neon Fields Arena, which was just introduced in Rocket League‘s latest season. New settings will allow players to adjust the intensity of the visual effects in the arena, letting them manipulate pulsing effects, flashing effects, moving FX and visuals, and the brightness of background lights. The update will go live on February 1 at 4:00 PM PST.
Although the game features a wide range of vehicle body-types for players to use, Fennec was released back in July of 2019, and has since become an unexpected fan-favorite. Over on Twitter, many fans and esports teams alike rejoiced at the addition of Fennec Decals, replying to the announcement with memes and images showing their most-anticipated Fennec Decals.
Since its initial launch, Rocket League has become a hit game in the esports realm, garnering thousands of views both on livestream platforms and live television as well. While it seems that Rocket League‘s future is certainly bright, it will be interesting to see what else comes to the game in the near future.
Rocket League is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
