Pokemon Sword & Shield: How to Get Razor Claw | Game Rant

As players explore the Galar region in Pokemon Sword and Shield, they will find a variety of helpful held items for their Pokemon. One of these items is the Razor Claw, a held item that raised the critical hit ratio of the Pokemon it is being held by.

While the Razor Claw can be helpful for battle, it is also necessary in the evolution of one Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield. This Pokemon is the dual Dark and Ice-type, Sneasel. In order to evolve Sneasel into Weavile, a Sneasel needs to hold a Razor Claw while it levels up at night.

Considering the multiple possible uses for the Razor Claw, it is a good item for any trainer to find. Luckily, there are multiple places where players can collect them in the Galar Region.

The first location that players can find a Razor Claw is the Dusty Bowl. If they go to the northwest island and check near the northeast corner of the island, they can find a Razor Claw. It has a 25% chance to reappear after being found, but players should note that they require the Rotom Bike Water Mode in order to reach it.

Up next is the town of Stow-on-Side. By visiting the Bargain shop in the town, there is a chance that the shop keeper will be selling a Razor Claw for 3,000 PokeDollars. This, however, is random, and the shop keeper will be only selling one item per day with many other items in the shop’s internal item pool.

If players really want to put their luck to the test for a Razor Claw, there is another method for players limited to only the base game of Pokemon Sword and Shield. This method requires players to catch wild Jangmo-o, Hakamo-o, and Kommo-o. The former two Pokemon have a 5% chance to be carrying a Razor Claw naturally while wild Kommo-o have a 50% chance to have one.

For players that own the Isle of Armor DLC expansion, there is one more method of getting a Razor Claw. For it, players will need to be using the Cram-o-matic. If players manage to get 72-80 Ice-type points into the Cram-o-matic through their items, the Cram-o-matic will produce a Razor Claw. Ice-type items that can be fed to the Cram-o-matic include Aspear Berries, Comet Shards, Ganion Berries, Ice Stone, Icy Rock, and Snowballs.

After getting a Razor Claw, players can give it to any of their Pokemon. Whether or not they want to use it for battling or evolution is up to player preference.

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are now available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
