Since the day it first launched, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild influenced the gaming community and arguably the industry itself quite a bit. As a result, one of the most highly anticipated games is the sequel to Breath of the Wild that was announced a short time ago, but as of now, no release date has been confirmed. However, a certain online video game retail outlet in Austria may hold a clue as to when fans can expect the game to release.
Ever since Breath of the Wild 2 was first announced at E3 2019, many people in the gaming community have been excited about its release. Although, not a lot of official news has been revealed in terms of this game, leaving fans to further speculate on when they can expect to see new footage. Luckily, a recent posting on an online retail outlet shows that the game might be coming a lot sooner than a lot of people were likely expecting.
A Twitter user by the name of Ezereal discovered the release windows for both Breath of the Wild 2 and the remake of Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne on the website of an Austrian video game retail outlet called Gameware. According to this site, Breath of the Wild 2 is set to release in the second quarter of 2021 and the remake of Nocturne is set to launch in the Spring of 2021.
As always, with practically any leak, this information should be taken with a grain of salt. Considering that no official word has been given by Nintendo on this matter, it’s probably not the best idea for fans to get excited by this news. In fact, some would argue that this release window is a bit too soon.
Back when the game was first announced, Breath of the Wild was set to release in 2015, but was delayed for a full two years, citing issues with the physics engine. In fact, the first Breath of the Wild was actually delayed more times than Cyberpunk 2077, a game that a lot of people were up in arms about before it launched, due to the number of times it got delayed.
Though, admittedly, one could argue the point that Nintendo has already completed one Breath of the Wild type game and therefore have a lot more confidence in what the studio is creating. If issues with the physics engine were the main issue with the first game and if this game employs the same system as the first, then similar issues likely won’t occur. Furthermore, Nintendo revealed that Breath of the Wild 2 will be recycling the same map from the first game, so maybe the development of the sequel will be much speedier.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is in development for the Nintendo Switch.
