There are many different powerful Legendary Pokemon that players can obtain and use in Pokemon GO. While many of these Pokemon are reasonably popular, one of the fan favorites is Mewtwo, a Pokemon known for its both its power and lore.
Mewtwo is a pure Psychic-type Pokemon in Pokemon GO, making it weak to Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type moves. It also resists Fighting and Psychic-type moves, but while type defensiveness isn’t it main appeal, its pure attack power makes Mewtwo helpful in many different situations.
There are multiple ways for players to currently obtain Mewtwo, but some players may have already used up some of these methods. The biggest way of catching Mewtwo, however, is connected to the upcoming Pokemon GO Tour: Kanto Event later this February.
While the majority of the content involved within the upcoming Pokemon GO Tour: Kanto Event is locked behind a paywall, there are still plenty of things non-paying players can enjoy. One of these things are the raid bosses that will be present for the event. Of course, Mewtwo will be making appearances as one of the four possible raid bosses.
Mewtwo will be a tough Pokemon to deal with while challenging it. It is highly recommended players challenge Mewtwo with other players using Pokemon that can take advantage of its weaknesses.
Once players take Mewtwo down, they will get the opportunity to catch it. Thanks to the Pokemon GO Tour: Kanto Event, it even has the chance to appear in its shiny form. Players are recommended to use whatever Golden Razz Berries and normal Razz Berries to increase the odds of this Pokemon staying in the Pokeball.
The Pokemon GO Tour: Kanto Event will be on Saturday, February 20, 2021 and will be running from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. in players’ local times. Players will only have the event’s duration to challenge Mewtwo in a legendary raid.
This method is a lot more difficult to do currently, but there may be some players that have access to a Super Rocket Radar. It isn’t currently being given out in Pokemon GO, even for the Team GO Rocket Celebration Event, but the item can still be used.
The Super Rocket Radar allows players to track down and eventually battle the boss of Team GO Rocket, Giovanni. Once players do find and defeat him, they will be rewarded with an encounter with a Shadow Mewtwo that they can rescue. Like with raids, players should use whatever helpful berries they can to make the job easy.
