Despite being forced to push through several different bugs, Call of Duty: Warzone players have been enjoying a new meta recently. With several weapons viable and few being useless, Call of Duty: Warzone fans can find success with almost any gun — though professional player NICKMERCS suggests giving the Bruen a try.
At one point in Call of Duty: Warzone, the Bruen MK9 was the battle royale’s most overpowered gun. Being used as frequently as the MAC-10 or DMR 14 in recent months, the LMG functioned more like an Assault Rifle and peaked in popularity around August of 2020 — the same month where the Bruen also saw a major nerf. Despite going unused, the weapon has been seeing a slow power creep as the meta evolves, with recent weeks showing that the LMG is still a deadly weapon in the right hands.
As such, this has prompted several Bruen MK9 loadouts to be released, with NICKMERCS at the helm as usual. Recently using the Bruen MK9 to set an absurd new single-game kill record of 39, the FaZe member has shown that the gun is still viable without being broken. While players could copy his build from a previous video, the prop player has now fully detailed why the Bruen is one of the best guns in Call of Duty: Warzone’s current meta.
In his loadout, NICKMERCS uses a Monolithic Suppressor in his Muzzle slot, a favorite attachment of the pro player and a must-have piece of most builds from the FaZe member. With the attachment adding range and boosting damage, it is easy to see why it is used so much by expert players. By using the XRK Summit 26.8” Barrel as well, recoil is eliminated from the weapon, something crucial to using any LMG from a distance.
The Tac Laser attachment allows the player to aim down sights quicker, with the Holo Sight also necessary because of the Bruen’s ugly iron sights. Finally, 60 Round Mags are used to give the weapon a clip size that is a bit more fitting of a gun in its class. Despite claims that NICKMERCS is ruining Call of Duty: Warzone, the gamer seems unphased by critics, and it certainly looks like he has no plans to stop providing information regarding the strongest Call of Duty: Warzone guns anytime soon.

While having a good Bruen build will not help players kill those using the invisibility exploit, it should do just fine against anyone playing by the rules. While a future update may knock the Bruen MK9 down a peg, as of now it is the strongest weapon in its class and a genuine contender for Call of Duty: Warzone’s best gun.
