Little Nightmares 2 Gets Creepy Trailer Ahead of Launch Later This Week

Little Nightmares 2 is unveiling a creepy, atmospheric trailer just days before its official launch. The game serves as a direct sequel to 2017’s Little Nightmares.

Bandai Namco and Tarsier Studios’ original puzzle-platformer horror adventure game was met with widespread acclaim, with many praising the game’s challenging puzzles, terrifying characters, and art style. Hype for the sequel has been steadily building in the four years since, with Little Nightmares 2 being the first of the most anticipated horror games of 2021.

The Little Nightmares 2 trailer begins with the new protagonist, Mono, entering a television screen. The trailer continues with atmospheric, ominous music, showing Mono and Six, the first Little Nightmares protagonist, making their way through various puzzles. The pair is also shown to encounter various and terrifying enemies, interspersed with praise from some of the title’s early reviews. The final portion of the trailer picks up in speed and intensity, showing Mono outrunning a massive enemy that looks similar to the twin chefs of the first game, followed by running down a hall with countless arms tearing through the walls and ending with an ascent out of a sewer. The last shot appears to be of Mono without the paper bag on his head, suggesting the headgear serves a purpose beyond the cosmetic.

Tarsier and Bandai Namco appear to be pulling out all the stops for its latest game, releasing another Little Nightmares 2 commercial featuring famous mentalist Derren Brown. The mind specialist breaks down the concept and causation of dreams, before delving into the source of nightmares, accompanied by some truly unsettling CGI. Watched along with this trailer, its easy to see the game’s appeal to lovers of horror, creating a uniquely charming yet terrifying vibe all its own.

Little Nightmares 2 launches February 11 for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions releasing later in 2021.
