Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo IV is an upcoming hack and slash role-playing action game. Although the expected release date is based on speculation at this point, it’s safe to say it won’t release in 2021. Only three classes have been confirmed so far, leaving a world of possibilities for what we’ll see in Diablo IV.
The classes of Diablo IV are essential for the game type. Diablo games don’t have the lengthiest campaigns, but they have unparalleled replay value for their abundance of classes. Moreover, each class can be specialized in different ways, further adding replay value. It has the potential to be the game in the series yet. With profound classes, Diablo IV can surpass expectations.
10 Monk
The Monk class was introduced in Diablo III. Known for its elemental physical damage, using a weapon or unarmed, the Monk deserves to be in Diablo IV. The highly anticipated hack and slash game would benefit from having the Monk because of the diversification the character brings. Using the gods as the source of its power, the Monk is a master at martial arts and spiritual attacks. In addition to using unarmed combat, the Monk can wield various weapons.
9 Witch Doctor
The Witch Doctor first appeared in Diablo III. This class was partially inspired by the Necromancer class since both can summon pets and use mind control attacks. The Witch Doctor, however, is slightly different than the Necromancer. Both can summon undead servants, yet the Witch Doctor passively summons minions, whereas the Necromancer actively relies more on its summons. Needless to say, the Witch Doctor deserves to appear once again in Diablo IV.
8 Demon Hunter
“Now, I am ready. A meteor has fallen in Tristram, and the dead have risen in its wake. I will send them back to their graves. Once, I was hunted. Now…I am the hunter.” The Demon Hunter first appeared officially at Blizzcon 2010. The class has since won us over with its ranged combat using crossbows, traps, and shadow magic.
The Demon Hunter was inspired by the Amazon and the Assassin classes because of its ranged attacks and traps. One key difference is that the Demon Hunter is darker.
7 Assassin
As the master of traps and fighting in close quarters, the Assassin is a must-have in Diablo IV. Similarities can be drawn between the Assassin and the Monk based on their physical fighting traits. However, the Assassin is best used with a series of traps rather than focusing on melee like the Monk. This character needs to be in Diablo IV for its unique abilities.
6 Crusader
Although the Crusader class is heavily based on Diablo II‘s Paladin, there are several key differences. For starters, the skill set of the Paladin and Crusader are different. Also, the Crusader uses Wrath as its power source, differing from the Paladin’s Mana. The Crusader can attack at medium and close range, making it one of the series’ most powerful characters. Diablo III fans are yearning for a reappearance of the Crusader class in Diablo IV.
5 Amazon
At some point, it was suggested that the Amazon should be added to Diablo III. Ultimately, developer Blizzard Entertainment chose to add the Necromancer instead. The Amazon could be an integral part of Diablo IV. Its weapons are specific to its class. The class was partially inspired by the Demon Hunter, but for the most part, it is a unique class in the series. With the ability to shoot bows and throw javelins, the Amazon is proficient at ranged attacks.
4 Druid
The Druid uncanny missing appearance from Diablo III caused an uproar in the Diablo community. The Druid was first introduced in Diablo II as part of the Diablo II: Lord of Destruction expansion pack.
It’s been confirmed that the Druid will return in Diablo IV. This coveted character class has the ability to use shapeshifting skills like turning into a werebear or werewolf. It can also summon various animals to fight alongside them.
3 Necromancer
“All that grows must also wither and die. All dies and rots, and will then nourish the living.” The decision to add the Necromancer to Diablo III post-launch as a standalone was questionable. The expansion Diablo III: Reaper of Souls added the Crusader sooner rather than later.
For those looking to replay Diablo III with a new character, the Necromancer is a good choice. A great deal of polish went into this character. The Necromancer can summon the undead to do its bidding and use corpses as a source of power. Hopefully, Diablo IV features this beloved class.
2 Sorceress
The last confirmed Diablo III class is one of the most coveted. Diablo players who aren’t familiar with the Sorceress might remember the Wizard instead. Both classes have a similar skillset and appearance. The character uses a combination of elemental spells, including fire, cold, and lighting. It is considered a glass cannon, meaning it inflicts immense damage but is vulnerable to high-damaging attacks. For Rifts or boss runs, the Sorceress learns moves like Teleport and Magic Weapon that makes it advantageous.
1 Barbarian
Since the Barbarian’s monumental introduction in Diablo II, it has become the first and foremost class. The Barbarian uses various weapon types to defeat opponents. As a master of close-quarter combat and a proficient user of team-based warcries, the Barbarian is an essential part of any Diablo party. This character’s mastery of weapons like swords, axes, maces, polearms, and spears makes it an easy character for newcomers. This character is already confirmed for Diablo IV, so don’t miss out!
