Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: All East Anglia Artifact Locations & How To Reach Them

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is indisputably one of the best RPGs to release in 2020. It’s bursting with content for players to go through, and with its unique Viking flair, it offers an immersive world other games could only hope to achieve. It’s basically a must-buy game, especially in a year in which everyone wants to escape to another world.

Completionists of the world will want to hunt down everything they can, which includes all of the artifacts in the game. Artifacts include many types of collectible items found throughout the world, including both England and Norway. There are ten artifacts scattered throughout East Anglia, a region of England, for players to hunt down, which come far easier to find if they know where to look.

10 Mercury Temple – Roman Artifact

To find this artifact, players should head towards Mercury Temple in the northwest part of East Anglia. There are a lot of little rooms to look through, but players should find the one in the northeast part of the area. There, they will find a shaft there that leads to the water.

Players should follow this shaft until the end and smash the wooden wall they find there. Swim through, and the Collect icon will appear on an old statue, signaling the location of the Roman Artifact.

9 Elmenham – Flying Paper

Players that want all the tattoo options in the game should make sure they don’t miss this one. Travel to Elmenham, a small village in Norfolk. There, players can spot the Flying Paper when they get near the church. The paper will fly east, and players will have to chase it across the rooftops. Keep pace, and swiftly maneuver over obstacles without losing sight of the paper. Once players can grab it, they’ll have access to the Vestri Wind Scheme (Back) tattoo design.

8 Grime’s Grave – Cursed Symbol

Players will have to delve deep into the dark tunnels leading from Grime’s Grave to find this Cursed Symbol. It can be a bit of a journey, so be sure to come prepared, especially if a certain bit of DLC is installed. Find Grime’s Grave just south of Brisleah Farm on the island that makes up Northwest East Anglia. Climb down into the pit to access the caves within. Find the flooded area to discover a glowing shrunken head, the Cursed Symbol.

Players with the Legend of Beowolf DLC will need to be careful when they visit. If installed, this is the location of the Grendel’s Mother boss encounter. Unless players plan on completing the DLC along with collecting the Cursed Symbol, be sure to avoid the witch and get out with the artifact safely.

7 Elmenham – Cursed Symbol

Players should start hunting for this Cursed Symbol by heading to Elmenham, a town on the river between the two northernmost islands of East Anglia. Players should head east, keeping their eyes out for some particularly spooky looking trees. Eventually, the player comes across a tree surrounded by tied poles and eerie scarecrows. The tall tree in the center has this artifact hanging from it up high. Shoot it down to claim the artifact.

6 Northwic – Flying Paper

Players need to head to Northwic to get this Flying Paper and another tattoo design. Northwic is located on a small island in the Northern portion of East Anglia. Players need to head toward the walls of the city without getting too close. If they hug the walls, they’ll miss this one. Players should look for a pile of logs with a beam sticking out. This is the starting spot. Engage in some parkour across a series of ropes and trees to get the Valhalla Blessing Scheme (Head) tattoo design once it lands in a sheep pen.

5 Northwic – Rigsogur Fragment

This artifact is far easier to find than the Flying Paper in the same city. Find Northwic on a small island in the Northern portion of East Anglia. Players simply need to head to the largest longhouse, which is in the center of the city. There is a rock-filled bookcase to the left of the throne that players will need to move. Enter the room behind it, climb the ladder within that room, and smash through the wooden barrier to get the Rigsogur Fragment hidden within.

4 Theotford Forest – Roman Artifact

Theotford Forest is a little southeast of Berkelouw Bog in Southwestern East Anglia. It’s easy to spot the Roman ruins in the area that players will need to search in. There is a breakable floor in the center that can be destroyed with a nearby oil jar. Use the campfire to light an arrow and blast in.

Players then need to run back quickly and grab another oil jar before heading into the tunnel they just revealed. Throw the oil jar at the breakable wall inside to find this Roman Artifact, which is sometimes located on top of a statue in the room. Be ready for a quick climb.

3 Berkelouw Bog – Roman Artifact

Fighting Cordelia, one of the Daughters of Lerion, is not a simple task. It’s best to avoid her within Berkelouw Bog if the player only wants the artifact. Once in the bog of Southwestern East Anglia, head southward to discover a set of Roman ruins. Explore them to find the Roman Artifact hanging inside. This is one of the easiest artifacts to obtain in the region, making it a great option to search for first.

2 Burgh Castle – Cursed Symbol

This artifact is fairly straightforward to find. Head to Burgh Castle on an island east of Northwic in the northern half of East Anglia. Once there, look for the crumbling tower to the south. It’s located next to a particularly gnarled tree. Players need to climb to the top of the tower where they can find a wooden trap door. Break it into pieces, and take the Cursed Symbol hidden within.

1 Edmund’s Hope – Treasure Hoard Map

Who doesn’t want tons of treasure? Players should head to Edmund’s Hope on a small, inland island, north of Burgh Castle in Northern East Anglia. Search for the chapel located there. To get inside, players need a key, but it’s pretty easy to find. There’s a ladder just inside the door of the larger church nearby. Climb up, and the Edmund’s Hope Chapel Key is located at the top. Players can get the East Anglia Hoard Map by unlocking the chapel and grabbing it from inside.
