Finding Linus’ blackberry basket is a quest in Stardew Valley. Here’s how players start the Stardew Valley quest, complete it, and the rewards for finishing the quest.
Throughout the year in Stardew Valley, the player will receive a number of quests that are typically triggered on a specific day in a specific season. Some quests can be given by Linus, the fellow living in the tent in the mountains by Robin’s house. He considers himself an outcast of the town; most villagers don’t treat him well, which has led to his distrust in others. Still, Linus operates the same as other Stardew Valley villagers and can be gifted items and has heart events.
But despite the player’s relationship level with Linus in Stardew Valley, on Fall 8, the player will receive a letter from Linus asking for help finding his blackberry basket. All the player needs to do is find his basket and return it to him. It’s actually hiding in plain sight, but during the Fall, it’s difficult to spot because its color makes it blend in with the bright orange and browns of the turning grass and leaves in Pelican Town.
After exiting the farm, head north towards the bus station and navigate through the paved road back into the west part of town, which is north of the player’s farm. Just before the next tunnel mouth and next to some blackberry bushes is Linus’ blackberry basket. Next, simply return it to Linus, who is most likely hanging out by his tent or the lake in the mountains.
While many Stardew Valley quests reward the player with money, sometimes even thousands of gold, finishing this quest doesn’t offer any money in exchange but rather 1 friendship heart. This might be due to the fact that Linus lives a bit differently and therefore doesn’t have much money, but all other Linus quests, such as Community Cleanup or anything assigned to the Help Wanted board, will reward the player with gold in addition to affinity points.
Linus is considered an underrated character in the Stardew Valley community. Because Linus chooses to live a life that isn’t wasteful by not using electricity and by foraging for food, many players have come to admire his lifestyle. Luckily, not all of the villagers in Pelican Town are rude to him and have the same viewpoint. In Linus’ 8th heart event, Robin offers to make Linus lunch and Gus will give him a meal when the player finds him digging through the trash at night.
Stardew Valley is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
