Part of the success of MK11 has been due to the steady release of new DLC fighters to further fill in the roster of available Kombatants.
The game’s immediate predecessor MKX saw some of the franchise’s first crossover characters and MK11 continued that trend in a big way. Iconic movie figures like Rambo and Robocop were made possible partly because of the game’s publisher, Warner Bros. This relationship makes speculation about future DLC fighters an almost ethereal task, with so many big names associated with WB.

Alongside the horror hopefuls, Warner Bros. also has the rights to other DC characters beyond just the Joker. While there are obvious implications surrounding murder involved with including some of the other DC characters, the popularity of recent releases like Justice League Dark: Apokolips War show that many fans are fine with seeing more violent iterations of their favorite superheroes. The wise-cracking mage Constantine might feel right at home alongside the evil Shang Tsung. The DC universe is expansive as its long history would suggest and there are many possibilities that some fans have considered like members of the Watchmen series. DC specifically has a close relationship with NetherRealm, given its development of the Injustice franchise. So the possibility of another DC character isn’t out of the realm of possibility.
As fans continue to wonder about what to expect from Mortal Kombat 11 in the coming year, speculation about whether more DLC characters are coming will likely continue. In era where Neegan can fight Eddie Gordo, Sephiroth can battle Donkey Kong, and the Terminator can decimate Spawn, almost anything seems possible going forward.
