Originally a title for Wii U, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury has recently come out for Nintendo Switch. Those on the fence or new to the game will likely be wondering how many Worlds are hidden throughout. Like many other Mario games, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury includes a variety of Worlds each with multiple levels. Continue reading this guide to see just how much content is packed into this game.
This entry into the series follows the more traditional world structure of the original games. Players start at level 1-1 and make their way through different challenges until reaching a famous boss from the Mario franchise. In Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, there are also plenty of additional mini-games, Toad houses, and extra obstacles to face on the way. After finishing the final level, Mario makes his way to the next World.
The beginning of the game will look very familiar to seasoned Mario players. World 1 takes place in the knolls and fields of the Mushroom Kingdom complete with their signature green style. Rather straightforward, fans will then move on to World 2 which has a Desert theme. In addition to the 6 main levels, make sure to grab the Green Stars and Stamps before heading to the next location. World 3 continues the theme trend by having a chilly atmosphere, including snowy levels and haunted Boo mansions.
World 4 may seem somewhat similar to World 2, but instead of a desert, it takes Mario through the mountains. Once descending from the dusty peaks, players will get to take it easy in the tropical area of World 5. The final round of the normal Worlds, the 6th location jets the famous plumber up into the clouds for some sky-high adventures. Keep in mind, these worlds will be getting progressively longer and more difficult as players move forward.
After exploring these 6 zones, there are two more worlds before the first ending of the game. Players move into World Castle, which focuses on recognizable stone and lava designs of most Mario games. While this may seem like the end, there is actually another World to complete. The hero enters World Bowser, a place with a colorful, casino-like vibe presenting some of the most deadly Bowser battles in Mario history. Complete this final area to reach the first ending of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.
Now, fans looking for more platforming action can rejoice because there are actually four additional worlds after this point. Rather than one specific theme, these worlds have specialty levels combining all the mechanics from the previous zones. Worlds Star, Mushroom, Flower, and Crown present hardcore gamers with difficult challenges pushing their skills to the brink.
But truly completing the game will require beating all 12 Worlds. Once that is done, players can hop into the new mode, Bowser’s Fury, for some more action. Bringing in aspects of the commercially successful Super Mario Odyssey fleshes out the experience of the content packed in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is now available on the Nintendo Switch.
