Xbox Working on New Quick Resume Features | Game Rant

Since the launch of the Xbox Series X, many users have actively enjoyed new quality-of-life features that were not on past platforms. These features have made the console experience more enjoyable and streamlined for many Xbox Series X owners, one of which being the quick resume feature. However, for some fans, this feature has not been the most optimized.

The quick resume feature is one of the best features included on the Xbox Series X/S. While the PS5 does possess a similar feature, it arguably doesn’t quite reach the same heights that the Xbox Series X has. Like with any piece of new technology, the quick resume feature is not without its growing pains.

Back when the Xbox Series X/S first launched, a select few titles had to have quick resume disabled for one reason or another. Jason Ronald, a Microsoft executive working directly on the Xbox Series X/S, discussed how getting every game to work with quick resume is one of Xbox’s highest priorities right now on the most recent episode of Major Nelson’s podcast.

In addition to the Xbox Series X’s quick resume, Ronald also went on to say that improvements are being made to the Xbox mobile app, along with Game DVR improvements. All of these features are what Xbox developers are primarily working on right now, that way Xbox users can get the most out of their experience with Xbox hardware and software.

In any case, it’s safe to say the launch of the Xbox Series X/S has managed to keep Microsoft busy. Along with these improvements being made to quick resume and the Xbox mobile app, there have also been rumors saying that games featured on Xbox Game Pass will be getting a permanent frame rate boost, jumping older titles from 3o FPS to 60 FPS, with some games going as high as 120 FPS.

It will be interesting to see how Microsoft manages to keep up with every plan it has for this console. The company already has quite a lot of irons in the fire as far as Xbox is concerned, as along with all of these improvements being made, there’s also upcoming next-gen games that many in the community have been looking forward to for years. The release of Halo Infinite will be happening later this year if all goes according to plan, and along with these new improvements being made, it seems that now is the best time to jump in on an Xbox Series X.
