When thinking about popular Fortnite streamers, one of the first ones that comes to mind is probably Ninja. Tyler “Ninja” Blevins has made a name for himself on this game thanks to his impressive skill and unique personality, and as a result has become one of the most successful streamers of all time. Recently, it was suggested that he quit playing the game thanks to mounting frustrations about balance and stream sniping, and this rumor began to spread like wildfire. Luckily for his fans, Ninja has doused these rumors before they could get too out of hand, reassuring viewers that he has not quit.
Rumors and drama like this often run rampant when it comes to high profile streamers like Ninja, so this isn’t anything out of the ordinary. It’s nice to see Ninja taking an active role in putting out these rumors so that fans don’t have to speculate, however. He also took it as an opportunity to share his opinions on the current state of Fortnite.
For those that may have missed it, during one of his streams, it seemed that Ninja was quitting Fortnite altogether. This all was in response to a series of stream sniping incidents that occurred back to back. Stream sniping is the practice of watching the live stream of another player in order to gain a competitive advantage over them, and since Ninja is so high profile, it happens to him a lot. A frustrated Ninja then went on to rage against stream snipers for a bit, making comments about the Fortnite community as a whole.
While all of this did happen, it seems likely that it was blown out of proportion a bit. Ninja later posted a tweet stating in no uncertain words that the rumors are “completely false.” He goes on to say that he loves Fortnite and will always come back to play it in some capacity, though he doesn’t elaborate on what that means exactly. It is true that Ninja has moved on from Fortnite in favor of other games recently, but to say that he’s quit entirely is clearly false.
For those that enjoy watching Ninja stream Fortnite, he’ll likely be back at it again soon. The game is constantly being updated with new seasonal content and ambitious crossover events with Marvel, Star Wars, and more, so it’s only a matter of time before one of these things catches Ninja’s interest enough to see him do another Fortnite stream.
Fortnite is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
