Assassin’s Creed Valhalla River Raids Coming Tomorrow | Game Rant

Fans of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla need to get ready because River Raids are coming tomorrow. Ubisoft has revealed that the next update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will include a new replayable mode and more.

The latest entry to the Assassin’s Creed series takes players into the violent but beautiful world of Vikings. Taking control of one of the best assassins Eivor, gamers are free to explore the Nordic seas and English countryside. Since release, Ubisoft has continued to update the game with some live service elements. Now, River Raids are coming to the game along with some other changes for those enjoying the experience.

The update is going to release for console and PC platforms February 16, 2021. Once installed, players will be access a slew of new features for the open world RPG. Continuing the Yule Fevistal update is the River Raid mode, which according to Ubisoft is highly replayable. It takes Eivor’s crew to unexplored regions of England, where fans can find more loot and challenges. Though Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has plenty of microtransactions, River Raids will be free for anyone who owns the game.

To take on this unique mode, the team is also adding in plenty of abilities and skills for Eivor in this patch. For instance, players can now unload a Berserker Trap from their bow which leaves a hallucinatory powder to confuse enemies. Some of the extra skills available will buff the viking’s passive abilities like getting a speed boost or having a better chance of looting arrows. The patch also includes a host of game improvements and bug fixes for everything from graphics to questing.

So far it seems like Ubisoft has long term hopes for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Despite the game coming out in early November 2020, it is still receiving patches months later. Not to mention, the changes include content updates, new features, and fixes across the board. While the details for River Raids are limited from the list, it does sound like an activity that should provide more to do after completing the story mode. Raiding settlements allows players to test Valhalla’s combat changes, so if anything the mode will be fun for awhile.

Though with this many updates for bugs and glitches, it is concerning that the game released in that sort of state. And with the game having been out for months, it is likely that many players have since moved on from the game. While River Raids will provide extra ways to experience Eivor’s world, the lack of specifics is not particularly encouraging. Nevertheless, Ubisoft continues to improve the overall experience and those who are still enjoying the game will likely enjoy the new mode.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
