Images from what may be the live-action Halo television appear to have leaked online. A huge budget has gone into the Halo TV series, but not a whole lot is known about the show. However, the two pictures that just were posted online could shed light on the series in small ways.
The Halo TV series moved to Paramount Plus and is set to release in 2022. While the franchise has seen various non-gaming iterations in the past, this one looks to be the biggest in terms of budget and excitement so far. Any info that fans can glean would be intriguing, so the possible leaked images would be very exciting.
Twitter user @Mikethehuman_ posted two pictures online with a very ambiguous description. The user simply says that the images are of a live-action Warthog and marines and that it was spotted in Hungry. The user does not appear to be an insider or a prevalent leaker, so for now all of this should be taken with a grain of salt, although Halo very much does dominate their timeline. It is not clear how Mikethehuman_ received the images.
As far as the pictures themselves, one of them is a semi-blurry shot of a few actors who are donned in marine gear. The costumes look rather legit, and the blurred nature of the image does give credence to the idea that the photographer was perhaps taking a rushed and forbidden snapshot. Meanwhile, the second picture is a stunning image of one of the most beloved vehicles in Halo – and perhaps all of gaming – the Warthog.
If the pictures are 100% legitimate, there are other possibilities outside of the images being from the upcoming Halo TV series. Xbox has almost always put together rather remarkable live-action trailers for its Halo games. Many remember the “Beleive” campaign for Halo 3, but the “We Are ODST” for Halo 3: ODST or the “Deliver Hope” for Halo: Reach are prime examples of emotional, stunning, and memorable live-action trailers leading up to the launch of those Halo titles. One would expect that Halo: Infinite would have a similar advertisement campaign, so these leaked images could be for that.
The issue with the Halo: Infinite live-action trailer premise is that it is likely that the ads have already been taken care of. The game was set to launch last year and delayed rather last minute. It is possible that Xbox has decided to put some more money and time behind a live-action ad campaign, but it is more likely that it would have already shot that footage last year. So if these leaked pictures are real, which it has not yet been confirmed that they are, the Halo TV series is a decent bet.
Halo is expected to be released on Paramount Plus in the first quarter of 2022.
