Monster Hunter Rise Switch demo returns this week with more monsters

During today’s Monster Hunter Digital Event, Capcom confirmed that the free Monster Hunter Rise Switch demo is coming back – and it’s bringing more monsters with it.

The Monster Hunter Rise demo returns to Nintendo Switch on March 11 and will introduce more challenges for players to take on ahead of the game’s launch on the Nintendo handheld/home console later this month.

For hunters eager to sharpen their whetstones (and their wits), the demo will return with the opportunity to fight Rise’s flagship monster – Magnamalo – and see what the monster that feeds on the Rampage is all about. There’s also a new trailer for the game, which features this angry flagship monster, which you can check out below.

Anyone returning to the demo will be able to reset their ‘tries’ from the January demo, meaning they’ll get the full amount of attempt to tackle the ferocious beast, as well as a new challenge involving the sleep-inflicting fox-inspired monster, Mizutsune.

The trailer also reveals that the game will be getting some more support in the months after release; first up, we’ll be getting the stealth-loving Chameleos and ‘several new monsters’ in an update due to land at the end of April. Following that, more monsters will be announced, though Capcom hasn’t detailed a release date for those just yet.

If you want to get your teeth on all this but would rather play the game on PC, don’t worry: Capcom has confirmed that the PC version of Monster Hunter Rise is early in development, but the PC version is currently targeting release sometime in 2022.

Nintendo has also previously mentioned a Monster Hunter Rise-themed Switch console for Europe and Japan, which you can see here.
