There are numerous Landscape Cards in Loop Hero, which can be placed away from Roads and Roadsides and produce their own unique effects. One of the Landscape Cards that players may be particularly interested in placing is the Forest Card, though it will not be available immediately upon starting a run. Indeed, Loop Hero fans will need to unlock this Landscape Card before it can be set down, and this guide will detail exactly how that is done.
To get right to it, players that want to unlock Forests in Loop Hero should turn their attention to the Building Menu that is accessible from their camps. Fans will find that the Forest is situated near the top of this menu, and there are a few pathways that they can take in order to reach it. That said, every player will need to pass through the Supply Depot and Intel Center buildings on their way to Forests, and the Card itself require three Orbs of Evolution and two Metamorphosis.
With respect to earning these necessary resources in Loop Hero, that is not an entirely insignificant endeavor. The Metamorphoses, for example, require players to obtain a reasonable number of Noticeable Change, components that are earned by altering the environment with tile combinations. The Orbs of Evolution, on the other hand, come from dispatching Living or Plant type enemies, and the Bandits that are brought by placing Villages are good targets for it.
For those players that are curious about the effects of Forests, it grants +1% attack speed. Furthermore, fans can turn these tiles into Burned Forests in Loop Hero, which provide additional magic damage. Players that are interested in earning that effect will need to place a Storm Temple near their Forests, and that card is unlocked by building a Smithy and following it up with a Smelter.
To quickly note, construction of the Smelter building also unlocks the Arsenal, a powerful Golden Card that grants players an additional equipment slot in Loop Hero. While the specifics of the slots that are unlocked vary based on the class that a fan has set on the loop, it should prove quite helpful in almost all instances. As such, focusing on getting the Smelter up and and running early is certainly not a bad idea, and indeed fans may want to make a quick detour for the structure as they work their way up to unlocking Forests.
Loop Hero is available on PC.
