Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl are the next Pokemon remake titles that fans have been anticipating for almost seven years now. The Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes were announced during a Pokemon Presentation last month, which showcased the new art style and aesthetic that players will see when they make their journey through Sinnoh once again.
These Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes will be available on Nintendo Switch later this year and will cost $60. Now that it has been over a weeks since the titles were revealed, pre-orders for the physical versions of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are available now from retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop.
While pre-orders for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are available from a handful of retailers, it is still unclear when exactly these titles were release. Only a release window was given at the Pokemon Presentation on February 26, being “late 2021.” As such, no concrete dates are listed on any of the pre-order websites as of yet, with Amazon putting a placeholder date of December 31, 2021. However, it’s likely that the Generation 4 remake titles will launch sometime in early-to-late November, as several previous entries in the mainline Pokemon series have released in November in the past.
Additionally, no pre-order bonuses for these Pokemon titles have been revealed yet either, so some players may want to hold off on pre-ordering until any bonuses are made apparent. Often times, games will have specific pre-order bonuses that differ between each retailer, so depending on what gets revealed players may want to choose one retailer over another. Of course, it’s also important to mention that these pre-orders are only available for the physical editions of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Players will likely be able to pre-order the digital versions of these titles much closer to the actual release date later this year.
It seems there is going to be a lot of exciting Pokemon content coming later this year and beyond if the Pokemon Presentation was any indication. For those who may have missed it, the first open-world Pokemon RPG was announced alongside the Generation 4 remakes, titled Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Like the Generation 4 remakes, Pokemon Legends: Arceus will take place in the Sinnoh region as well. However, unlike Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, this new open-world title will take place in the Sinnoh region of the past.
Beyond that, there are other Pokemon properties that are in the works that players are looking forward to. For example, the Pokemon MOBA title, Pokemon Unite, has entered its beta testing stage. Players in Canada are already testing out the mobile MOBA title, though the beta period has been limited to Android users. Additionally, past Pokemon titles such as Pokemon Sword and Shield and even Pokemon GO are continuously being updated with new content to keep players busy until Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl release later this year.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl launch late 2021, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
