More shiny forms for Pokemon have been added to Pokemon GO. The newest recipients of their shiny forms from the mainline games are the pure Rock-type Pokemon Nosepass and its dual Rock and Steel-type evolution, Probopass.
While there are no mechanical benefits to shiny Pokemon in Pokemon GO compared to normal ones, many like to collect these differently colored creatures. Nosepass’s shiny form especially is a good looking one, with the Pokemon being clad in a shiny golden color.
With the currently running Searching for Legends event, now is the best time for players to search for Nosepass and its shiny form. This event increases the spawn rates of multiple Ground, Rock, and Steel-type Pokemon with Nosepass being one of these Pokemon. Nosepass additionally is offered as a reward for multiple parts of the event.
There is no way to guarantee a shiny Nosepass to spawn, but its high spawn rate for the Searching for Legends will additionally make it more likely for players to come across one. Because of this, players are recommended to use Incense to further these spawn rates. Players however should note that they will not be able to tell if Nosepass will be shiny based on its model when it spawns in the overworld. The only way to check is by entering an encounter with it.
As players encounter different Nosepass, it is recommended to catch all that they can while still keeping an eye on their Pokeballs. This is to make sure they have enough candy to eventually evolve it into Probopass and help power it up afterward.
Once players find and catch a shiny Nosepass, they can evolve it into a shiny Probopass. Shiny Probopass will keep shiny Nosepass’s golden coloring, making it equally as appealing. This evolution will cost 50 Nosepass candies, but players will not get the option to evolve their Nosepass unless they are in range of an active Magnetic Lure. These lures can be purchased through the in-game Pokemon GO store or can be earned through the Searching for Legends timed research tasks.
Probopass is a dual Rock and Steel-type as previously mentioned. This means that it is only weak to Ground, Fighting, and Water-type moves. It however also resists many different moves, with it resisting Dragon, Ice, Psychic, Fairy, Bug, Rock, Flying, Normal, and Poison-type moves. This makes Probopass a very effective defensive wall that is capable of lasting out in the battlefield for a long time.
