TenZ Joins Sentinels As Sinaatra’s Replacement in Valorant Masters

After being accused on Twitter by his former partner, Jay “Sinatraa” Won was suspended from the Sentinels meaning he would not be competing in the upcoming Valorant Champions Tour Stage 1 Masters. After the accusation went public, the Sentinels decided to suspend Won while the investigation remained open and decided to use a substitute which was just announced to be Tyson “TenZ” Ngo from Cloud9.

Won was accused by his ex-girlfriend Cleo “Cle0h” Hernandez of psychological and sexual abuse through a Google Document she posted on Twitter. The document went into details about her relationship with the Valorant player, including screenshots and an audio to support the allegations. Alex Francois released a statement confirming that Won would be suspended and would not be participating in the VCT.

Recently, the Sentinels announced that Ngo would be a permanent addition to the team so he will be participating in the match against Luminosity Gaming on the 12th. Ngo was the first player to be signed on Cloud9 for Valorant although he started as a CSGO player. Although Ngo had been signed up for Cloud9 as a Valorant player, he stepped down in January from competitive gaming and announced he would be focusing on content creation moving forward. Ngo was the first player to reach Radiant status in Valorant in North America, earning him a spot in the Cloud9 team.

As of now, the Sentinels’ roster consists of Jared “zombs” Gitlin, Hunter “SicK” Mims, Shahzeeb “dapr” Gulino, and the most recent addition, Ngo. Since Won’s participation was successful during his time as part of the Sentinels, the team was under a huge pressure to find a high-performing player to fill-in Won’s shoes. While Cloud9’s performance was not outstanding, Ngo had proven to be a great Valorant player which is why it is not a surprise he was picked to become a part of the Sentinels.

As Ngo’s comeback to competitive gaming is still fresh, it is not entirely clear if he will continue his activity on Twitch as a content creator for the time being. His Twitch channel has over 900 thousand followers where he usually streams every day at 20:00 CST. On the other hand, Ngo mentioned in a stream that his contract with the Sentinels works as a sort of loan in which he will be working exclusively for the Sentinels as it is not possible to be a part of two teams simultaneously. This means that he could decide to step down from competitive gaming again after the VCT, but this is yet to be confirmed.
