Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Getting Transmog and More Tomorrow

The most recent title to the series, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, focuses on the ancient world of Vikings. Despite being a single player game, the title includes live service elements which build on the endgame. Ubisoft is releasing a new update tomorrow for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla that will finally add Transmog functionality along with a series of other changes.

Oftentimes, the best armor sets in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla do not always look great despite the great buffs. Transmog allows players to switch the look of a specific piece to a different one in their collection, providing more flexibility. For tomorrow’s update, players can look forward to this feature which allows more customization of Eivor’s armor designs.

Past patches have added playable content, new abilities, and lists of bug fixes to name a few changes. In Ubisoft’s notes for the update, coming March 16, the team reveals how Transmog works in the game. Once installed, fans can head over to Gunnar’s blacksmith in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Ravensthorpe to tweak the design of both armor and weapons. Take note, it will cost 50 silver to complete the change, but afterwards the equipment will have a star marking in Eivor’s inventory.

Those still enjoying Assassin’s Creed Valhalla can also get pumped for more content coming in the update. There is an Ostara Festival event starting, which changes Ravensthorpe for the spring and brings extra activities to the game. The festival starts on March 18 and runs until April 8, so players will need to check back then for more details. There are some changes that will improve the experience too, like new skills and an option for a Close Camera during gameplay.

Even with a release back in November 2020, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is continuing to receive major updates. Ubisoft seems to understand that customization is key to keeping players engaged with the title. Transmog is a feature often available in MMOs, and even Destiny 2 is receiving the option in Season 14. With the new Ostara Festival, fans can grab more equipment and change Eivor’s overall look to fit the spring season.

However, even the likes of Transmog and special events might not be enough to bring back players. As a single player game, many gamers may have already cleared the main story and moved on to other titles. Another Viking game, Valheim has been smashing Steam sales, so it could be difficult for Ubisoft’s game to compete for playtime. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is one of the few AAA open world games available on next generation consoles, though. So those still diving into the game should get excited for the new content coming in the patch tomorrow.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
