For new Octopath Traveler players, the game is a turn-based RPG sporting an HD-2D aesthetic, using a blend of retro, sprite-based designs and modern visuals. The unique hook of the game is its structure, with players having to select one of eight adventurers complete with their own individual backstories and traits. As the game progresses, they’ll be able to recruit the other seven heroes, playing through their origins and evolving their specific abilities and skills.
