New Outriders Trailer Showcases The Hostile World of Enoch

Square Enix just hosted its Square Enix Presents event, giving players a look at the company’s new titles and updates on announced ones. One of the biggest games showcased at today’s event was Outriders, a third-person shooter game that features RPG elements. In the past few weeks, developer People Can Fly released a demo for Outriders, giving players a taste of what to expect from the upcoming game once released in a few weeks.

Now, People Can Fly just dropped a new CGI trailer for Outriders, highlighting that vast and hostile world of Enoch. The first few seconds of the trailer provides players with a glimpse of the world Outriders is set in that will feature snowy mountainous regions, a city in chaos, and vast open fields. Several creatures that players should expect to battle in Outriders were also featured in the latest trailer, showcasing just how massive and threatening some of them are.

One of the biggest highlights of Outriders‘ latest trailer is the overview of the combat system. In the game’s demo, players were able to try out the four classes available in Outriders: the Trickster, Pyromancer, Devastator, and Technomancer. Each of these classes was briefly seen in action in the preview, with the trailer’s last few seconds showing an action-packed encounter with an enemy creature.

Outriders is now only a few weeks away from release, and the latest preview would likely ramp up the hype for the game. It is worth noting that the demo People Can Fly released last February was met with overwhelming praise from players. Despite some small hiccups, such as connectivity issues and lower cutscene frame rates, gamers were mostly happy with everything the demo has showcased so far. The positive reception for the game was reflected in the demo’s performance, given that during its first week, the Outriders demo hit a staggering milestone by reaching over 2 million downloads.

In an interview with PlayStation Blog, People Can Fly’s Creative Director, Bartek Kmita, expressed his gratitude towards players’ positive feedback. Kmita recalled a brief panic-moment when the game’s servers weren’t scaling fast enough. However, once the problem was resolved, Kmita revealed that the development team was happy to see that players enjoyed the demo. The developer also responded to the news that some players were able to put in 100+ hours into the demo by saying that Outriders has always been designed toward a “huge, sprawling RPG journey.”

Outriders will release April 1, 2021, for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
