Next Resident Evil Village Demo Will Contain Final Game Content

Capcom’s latest installment in the Resident Evil franchise is shaping up to be one of the hottest horror games of the year. With the release of Resident Evil Village just around the corner, fans have already been treated to lots of content through trailers and teaser footage, including leaked details about what happens in the first thirty minutes. Now it looks as though a new demo will be showing even more exciting content.

According to recent reports, this next demo for the upcoming Resident Evil Village will showcase gameplay features from the final build. In a post on Twitter from a couple of days ago, Business Manager for Limited Run Games said that Capcom has confirmed the new demo will have portions of the final product, compared to the previous demonstration which was “purely a visual demo.”

The original RE8 demo, entitled Maiden, revealed a series of titillating bits from the game, but was a technical presentation aimed at showcasing to the players what the game would look and sound like, as well as some of the scares they would experience. Among other things, it was revealed that Resident Evil Village would largely take place inside a castle that seems to be occupied by a number of female vampires.

Fans were already hyped up when a recent trailer showed a tall vampire-esque woman known as Lady Dimitrescu saw people on the internet fawn over her, becoming a beloved character almost instantly and inspiring memes and other online content. Lady Dimitrescu’s creator, Tomonori Takano, was taken aback by people’s reaction to her unveiling, particularly by people saying they were looking forward to being “chased by her.” It certainly seems to have been an unusual response to a horror character, but it’s one that seems to have upped the popularity of the game and made the release even more exciting.

RE Village will be a sequel to 2017’s highly praised Resident Evil 7, which saw the series given an arguably much-needed reboot to bring it back to its original horror routes. The story will focus on Ethan Winters and his wife Mia with events taking place several years after the previous game. This installment is said to be much larger than its predecessor, with the game utilizing the PS5 and Xbox Series console’s solid-state drives to create virtually zero loading times. Here’s hoping the new demo will do what Maiden did, which was to show off the visuals and impressive audio, but also give everyone an opportunity to finally see what the end product will look and play like.

Resident Evil Village is set to launch May 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
