Considered the go-to horror game for streamers and multiplayers in the current climate, Phasmophobia has become something of a sensation with its blend of cooperative play and terrifying antics. With a recent update to the game being announced, which fixes some known issues, the indie title seems to be finding new ways to keep the scares coming.
As well as touching up on some of the more vital features to keep the experience ticking over nicely, Phasmophobia will also be enabling players to actually physically interact with ghosts using bodysuit feedback mechanics. A recent tweet which speaks about the update says the game will be compatible with the bHaptics suits, which converts gaming audio into haptic feedback allowing for a more immersive experience with both games and movies.
The bodysuit is suited for VR which means that for those playing Phasmophobia using virtual reality, they’ll assumedly be able to receive feedback from the environment, which includes feeling the actual touch of the game’s various ghostly apparitions. This is just one of the features of the recent bug fix and gameplay changes the studio has made.
It seems that the hit horror game is being hugely looked after by its creator, Kinetic Studios. With new ways to keep the game scary, such as updating how the ghost AI works, it’s looking like Phasmophobia is going to cement itself as an important contribution to the horror community, as well as the VR market. It’s no wonder it’s become such a huge hit on streaming sites like Twitch.
Phasmophobia is available now on PC.
