Genshin Impact: 10 Things You Didn’t Know About Xinyan

Genshin Impact is a free-to-play, open-world, action RPG, gacha game released in September 2020 on PC, PS4, Android, and iOS. The game takes place in the colorful world of Teyvat, home to seven different nations that are all tied to a specific element. And while the player controls and follows the story of the Traveler, the protagonist, they can play as many other interesting heroes.

One of these unique characters is Xinyan, referred to as the “Blazing Riff.” She controls the element of Pyro and uses a Claymore as her weapon of choice. Xinyan, a four-star character, loves rock ‘n’ roll and wants to be a famous rockstar throughout the land of Liyue, trying to collect as many fans as possible on her road to stardom.

10 Xinyan According To The Official Website

“Rock ‘n’ roll is an avant-garde art in Liyue Harbor and Xinyan is the pioneer in this field. She rebels against ossified prejudices, using her music and passionate singing to awaken dazed souls fatigued by worldly matters. If you get the chance, do not miss out on her next performance!”

This is how miHoYo, the developers of Genshin Impact, define Xinyan on the game’s official website. While rock ‘n’ roll is a popular genre of music in the West, not so much in Liyue. That is why she needs to get people up and into the mosh pit, to save them from themselves.

9 Xinyan According To The Game

“Liyue’s sole rock ‘n’ roll musician. She rebels against ossified prejudices using her music and passionate singing.”

This is what Xinyan’s in-game character attributes text reads in Genshin Impact. Beyond rock ‘n’ roll being a lost art in Liyue, she is the only one doing it. And Xinyan has no tolerance when it comes to the people’s set-in-stone, preconceived opinions that exist beyond real reason. She does not just plan on bashing in some Hilichurl skulls, Xinyan wants to sing her heart out and move others along the way.

8 Xinyan Looks Punk Rock As Heck

When it comes to dressing, Xinyan is the embodiment of punk rock. She wears a black tank top, white shorts, and a red-and-white vest with red, black, and white sleeves. There is a black-and-red ribbon tied on one leg and a fishnet sock on the other. Xinyan carries around a ruan, which is like a Chinese guitar, that looks like an axe (literally).

She has dark skin, red eyes, and almost-black hair (which is tied up with pigtails and spiked bands). A small section of her hair is dyed red, and another part is dyed orange.

7 Xinyan Has Awesome Talents

If she must battle, Xinyan is more than ready. She brandishes her Claymore and burns down her enemies with Pyro. But besides being a force to reckon with, Xinyan also does it in style.

Her normal attack is called Dance on Fire; Xinyan’s elemental skill is Sweeping Fervor; her elemental burst is Riff Revolution; Xinyan’s first Ascension passive talent is “The Show Goes On, Even Without an Audience…”; her fourth Ascension passive talent is “…Now That’s Rock ‘N’ Roll!”; and Xinyan’s utility passive talent is A Rad Recipe.

6 Xinyan Is A Big Fan Of Gold

To level up a character’s talents, the player needs to acquire numerous materials. When it comes to Xinyan, she likes Teachings of Gold, Guide to Gold, and Philosophies of Gold; Xinyan also likes Treasure Hoarder Insignia, Silver Raven Insignia, and Golden Raven Insignia; and she is a fan of the Tusk of Monoceros Caeli.

When it comes to Ascension, Xinyan prefers Agnidus Agate (Sliver, Fragment, Chunk, Gemstone), Violetgrass, and Everflame Seed.

5 Xinyan Uses Fila Ignium

Fila Ignium is the name of Xinyan’s constellation, the character progression system. Each constellation is unlocked with a Stella Fortuna (which is only obtainable through pulling duplicates via Wishes).

If the player decides to invest in her, Xinyan will be able to hit enemies faster and for greater amounts of damage. From levels one to six, they are Fatal Acceleration, Impromptu Opening, Double-Stop, Wildfire Rhythm, Screamin’ for an Encore, and Rockin’ in a Flaming World.

4 Xinyan Rocks Out In Liyue Harbor

“A prosperous port city where a thousand ships drop anchor. Under the aegis of countless contracts and regulations, innumerable goods change hands and grace the seven nations with their presence.”

Liyue Harbor, like the game says, is a port city but also the main city of Liyue. But more importantly, it is where Xinyan takes the stage. Interestingly enough, rock ‘n’ roll music was brought over from Fontaine, another one of the seven nations. What is even more interesting is that the people of Liyue worship Morax, the Geo Archon (rock element), while those in Fontaine worship the God of Justice, the Hydro Archon (water element). Yet, Xinyan is of the Pyro (fire) element.

3 Xinyan Can Handle The Spice

Rockin’ Riffin’ Chicken is a special food item that the player has a chance to cook up by making Jueyun Chili Chicken with Xinyan. It is her favorite dish and specialty, made with fowl, Jueyun Chili, and pepper.

According to the game, “Its demonic appearance hides an absolutely demonic spiciness. Eat it, tear up, eat some more, and don’t stop till you drop! Surely only a demon could have invented such a dish!”

2 Xinyan Is Voiced By Laura Stahl

The voice actor for Xinyan is Laura Stahl, who also voices Barbara in Genshin Impact. On top of that, Stahl voices Bea in Pokemon: Twilight Wings as well as Ray in The Promised Neverland.

And it does not stop there, she also voices Shelia Nijem in The Misfit of Demon King Academy, Mami Nanami in Rent-A-Girlfriend, Dorothy in Great Pretender, Skyla and Hau in Pokemon Masters, Naive T Cell in Cells at Work, Clarence in Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online, Hayato Kawajiri in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable, Pairo in Hunter x Hunter: Phantom Rouge, Serpico in Berserk, Tanya in Fire Emblem Heroes, and Spinner Clow as well as Kite in Hunter x Hunter.

1 Xinyan Was Born on October 16

On October 16, Xinyan was born, which would make her a Libra.

Also, she shares her birthday with actor Angela Lansbury, actor Barry Corbin, rock singer-musician Bob Weir, baseball player Bryce Harper, actor Caterina Scorsone, actor Kellie Martin, movie director Kenneth Lonergan, actor Kyler Pettis, tennis player Naomi Osaka, actor Paul Sparks, actor Suzanne Somers, sportscaster Tim McCarver, and actor-director Tim Robbins.
