By now, crossovers between popular Twitch streamers aren’t out of the ordinary. However, the most recent collaboration comes in the form of the cosplay of competitive CS:GO player Jaryd ‘Summit1G’ Lazar by WoW Classic streamer Esfandtv, with the two bearing a resemblance to each other that is nearly inexplicable.
The two streamers are otherwise on opposite ends of the Twitch content spectrum, although recently, Lazar has been dedicating his streams to the NoPixel roleplay server. After his disinterest in the OfflineTV Rust server, the FPS streamer has enjoyed the events and features of the GTA server, as well as what’s to come over the weeks. Esfand hadn’t been a part of the GTA roleplay but, being inspired by Lazar’s devotion, the WoW streamer took it upon himself to do some real-life roleplay.
Esfand is virtually unseen without his trademark facial hair, but for the sake of the roleplay, he opted to shave it off. The streamer then pulls back his iconic hair and throws on a snapback before asking his audience for their opinion. Although the hat was missing the Legend of Zelda Triforce that Lazar’s hats are known to have, the impromptu cosplay gave Esfand a likeness that immediately invokes the competitive streamer.
In addition to the Twitch chat wildly reacting to the uncanny resemblance, Lazar himself later responded with a Tweet about the cosplay. Jokingly, the streamer asked why Esfand is using his shaving footage, to which Esfand responded that he had run out of content.
Altogether, the wholesome back and forth between the two streamers is cool to see. As much as Twitch serves as a hub for challenges and crossovers, it also can be the source of festering drama and toxicity. This doesn’t signify an immediate change, although streamers and viewers alike should appreciate content like this and emphasize it as an aspiration going forward.
In the meantime, there’s no telling what the two streamers may decide to plan content-wise in the future. By all means, the CS:GO streamer could execute the same concept in reverse and cosplay as Esfand, or even make a guest appearance on his stream, among numerous other ideas. Either way, moments like this, along with the recent collection of meme streams and sub-a-thons are great for the community and, understandably, Twitch benefits from the lack of drama.
